It was amazing.
All setup for victory at R27.
Waited for resources to max out at R30.
Amazing dub. I maxed out the achievements.
I'm also pretty high up he leaderboard with only 7 generals that maxed nobility but ranks only halfway. (All princess except Maria. Maria still waiting forever to join. I didn't kill her.)
Conquest Report
What went well or even better?
- Early game optimizations. They weren't all exact, but I followed the video mostly with many S&L in AI turn to keep it as similar as possible. (went well)
- Antonio Luna's 5 tips in this thread were also followed while I did the S&L (went well)
- Sophia just destroyed Netherland small fort at the start and also the netherland infantry. (even better)
- Ottoman city southeast of Clujnapoca was left empty, so I just took it. (even better)
- Factory and Stable south of Belgrade were empty, so I took them. (even better)
- Thanks to Dumouriez and Desaix, I took Zurich. (went well)
- The Swedish actually nearly destroyed Denmark. The large fort was killed, Christiania was taken. They only had 3 weak and low-HP infantry, 1 coastal fort, and 1 frigate which Hotze and Rosenberg destroyed easily. (even better)
- The Portuguese actually destroyed Spanish army, so it didn't take long to destroy Spain. It took a bit longer to starve though. (even better)
- In the late-game part, only Ottoman spammed forts, which was easily taken care of by Lusignan. French didn't spam forts. (even better)
- I continued to utilize the light cavalry in Russia, and captured Russian farms for more resources. (even better)
- Naples killed Napoleon on their own (even better)
- I spammed privateers from port below Barcelona early before starvation, so I was able to quickly take out toulon and spanish fort at the sea. (even better)
- I took over some cities in Britain at late game, and also stopped their motion to protect Moreau. (even better)
What went wrong?
- The Polish Heavy Artillery, in Polish turn, attacked L'Estocq for some reason... and got killed, and Prussians took over it. They left it empty 1~2 turns later so I took it.
- Factory next to Paris and east of Paris were taken back by the French. Desaix took a while to kill (east factory) but I had Sophia to kill him in about 3 hits. Paris factory was also regained after taking out Massena.
- Ushakov moved 2 rounds after the video. Also they kept killing Copenhagen and Denmark spawned new defense... and this went on for about 3 turns.
- Prussians stole Amsterdam
- Swedish took Christiania
- Nelson didn't move out of his port
- Some french buildings were defended unlike the HRE video. Examples: City Lyon, lv1 city north of Paris, Factory Marseille
- I wasn't able to take the Prussian Factory northeast of Berlin. I took Danzig instead but much later on.
- I took the city below Dombrowski, but Dombrowski took it back. I had to trap it around militia spam and chip it with light artillery, taking like 6 turns to regain it.
- I wasn't able to take Naples, but I took a factory above it.
- Rome took longer than the HRE video to take down, but I sent Sophia and destroyed Italy in 2 turns.
What did I learn?
- Maybe the Polish heavy artillery didn't attack back in the HRE video because its morale was down, and mine wasn't. I should S&L for L'Estocq to attack and make its morale go down at the start
- If Desaix doesn't move exactly as the video, he will go take the factory east of Paris
- We can S&L until enemy/ally doesn't spawn soliders to defend buildings for more efficiency
- Light cavalry at Russia can continue to capture Russian farms
What did my headquarters generals do?
- I used 5-star econ Fatimah instead of Arnold, but she had napoleonic code. Not much difference from Arnold in the video.
- I used Sophia on the siege artillery to destroy forts much faster, and sent her down to Italy late-game when Rome wasn't down yet. Sophia stayed there with the second code for more resources
- I spawned a single guard cavalry from stable next to marseille for Lan to destroy Spain quickly. Lan helped take farms quickly and also destroy Madrid in 2 turns. Then, Lan went to Cadiz.
Conclusion
AI movements were overall worse for me, but my combat generals and some of allies help came in clutch.
