Does anybody know the best generals by skills not stars I am asking about allitery, horse and inf generals
Generally, the elite princesses have the best skillset in the game. I will introduce you to them plus some IAPs and tier-2 generals.
Note that having 4 effective skills for one specific niche is extremely rare. Having 3 good skills are kinda good enough though.
Artillery
Rank
1. Isabela
2. Sophia
3. Moreau
4. Scharnhorst
Isabela is generally considered the best Artillery general in the whole game, with Accurate + Engineering + Geography + Ballistics.
Ballistics is a terrible skill that does not even function, so she only has the other 3.
Engineering is +2 movement for artillery, and Geography lets her move freely regardless of terrain.
With 4 stars in movement + 2x movement items (+4 movement) + Engineering (+2) + artillery movement 5~6, she reaches 15~16 movement, so she can move 5 hex freely for all artillery when maxed.
Note that 5 star movement is not necessary, only for decoration. (like my Isabela)
Thus, Isabela is the fastest Artillery general in the entire game. She's the only one with Engineering + Geography.
Accurate is a great skill that ignores evasion, which can reduce your damage from 0%, 3%, to a whopping 30%+. On average adds 3.5 damage per hit, according to
ks .
In late-game where hidden evasion is like 5% (8% for France in SNS, the 6th campaign!!) on average, this is an indispensible skill. Generals without evasion-deprival skills hit weaker.
Sophia is also pretty powerful. She needs quite some training, but she shines later.
Siege Master is a downgrade of Accurate, as it only ignores building evasion, which could range from 3% to 20%. (3% per lvl, 20% at lv7)
However, that's what Sophia has... so we have to accept it.
She also has Explosive, which adds +2 dmg for single formation artillery and +2.5 dmg for double formation. This is like having an extra 0.5 star for artillery.
Sophia's true value lies in the skill Spy. Spy increases damage by 50% on fortresses. Artillery generally has 20% damage boost on forts already, rocket doing 50% extra and siege doing 80% extra. These stack and create insane damage. High damage = Experience in the stage = +1 chevron and healing. When your Sophia is low, go bombard some fortresses to heal with chevron! This covers her weakness of only having 2 training stars.
Also, in conquests where AI spams forts, spy is even more so valuable.
Sophia is the easiest princess to unlock, you only need 250 years ruled on Europe. If you can finish a European conquest in under 65 rounds, she's guaranteed for you.
Moreau is the only general in the game to have Accurate + Explosive, so he has the best dmg on non-forts. (not forts because Sophia's Spy exist)
However, he is IAP and costs 6 emblems. The damage increase from Explosive isn't too big of a merit to be superior to the speedy Isabela or fort-cracker Sophia.
Also, Moreau is not so durable with 2 training stars. Doesn't have Spy to help himself heal up. If you have a bunch of slots and some money to spend on emblems, and you want a 3rd Artillery general, you can get him, I guess.
Unfortunately I do not have an image of Scharnhorst, so you can cope with this:
4 star art, 1 star mov, 3 star training, accurate, engineering, artillery trainer
Most ppl use him as beginner art gen bcz of trainer. Actually all things aside, he's actually almost like Isabela fully trained. Both have only accurate for dmg, and Scharnhorst is missing geography. When maxed, he can run around on light artillery or rocket with 5 hex, heavy/siege 4 hex. Sometimes 5 hex but inconsistent bcz no geography. That's kinda good enough actually. Theoretically can replace Isabela.
Cavalry
Rank
1. Lan
2. Berthier
3. Dombrowsky/Radetzky
4. Lasalle/Golitsyn
5. Murat/Ney
[img src="https://i.postimg.cc/PJxqKWtF/fatimah.jpg"
Lan is the Chinese princess, is very powerful with 4 effective skills and 5 training stars. Best general in the entire game.
5 hex movement on all cav with war horse, movement item, and 5* mov.
Berthier is a bit controversial because he starts at 1* cav/mov, needing at least 3660 medals for training. But when maxed, he's the 2nd best cav gen in the game.
He has Surprise/Strike/Geography/Fence. Fence is useless. Max movement -> He can move 6 hex(!) on light/heavy cav.
Dombrowsky/Radetzky have Surprise/Strike/Defense Art. Sadly both IAP, needing 6 and 8 emblems respectively. Dombrowsky has Banner and Radetsky has War Master, both trash.
Defense Art is less preferrable than Berthier's Geography unless you like to S&L a lot.
Lasalle has Sailor/Strike/Surprise/Mobility. Mobility is useless. Strike/Surprise is good for damage. Sailor is situaitonally useful, removing the 20% reduction of atk on water. This is replaceable though with an item, armored carrier. Lasalle's biggest merit comes where he's maxed out of the box, 5 star cav/mov. Best last-slot filler, very luxurious filler for sure. IAP for 6 emblems.
Golitsyn is a tier-2 general also popular for last-slot, starting at 5* cav and 3* mov. Has Strike/Surprise/Fence. Pure damage skills only. Overall a small downgrade from Lasalle but Lasalle is not worth the cost.
Murat is IAP general costing 6 emblems, starts with 5* cav and 3* mov. He has Spy/Assault Art/Surprise/War Expert. War Expert is bad. Spy + Assault Art makes him very powerful. Sadly he's missing Strike. Some theorize that he's better than Sophia on cracking forts when fully trained in artillery.
Ney is tier-2 version of Murat, having Siege Master/Spy/Mobility. Or, Ney can also be called Sophia without Explosives. Ney starts with 4* cav, so not that bad. Don't buy him though.
Infantry
Rank
1. Lannes
2. Victoria
Rest. Suvorov, Wellesley, Washington
Lannes has 5* inf at the start, though slow with 1* mov. His skillset is Assault Art/Mass Fire/Leadership/Geography.
Mass Fire is top tier inf skill as it lets you equip another item instead of using a snare drum. Add +6 dmg with ferg rifle. AA is a cherry on top.
Leadership is also powerful, letting him tank more and deal more. Also has decent training stars of 3.
Geo opens up potential for art/cav. Since we're talking abt Inf only, irrelevent rn.
Victoria is probably the hardest princess to get, requiring 850 years on Europe. She has Assault Art/Defense Art/Mass Fire/Bugle.
Lack of Leadership really hurts, so she's below Lannes. 5* training is great.
Suvorov is worth mentioning as he starts 5* inf, has all inf-specific skills of Bugle/Mass Fire/Formation/Infantry Tactics.
Sadly, he's not so good. The skillset isn't very good. Just wanted to mention. BTW, he's IAP costing 6 emblems.
Wellesley is trash also with Banner/Econ Master. Banner is too expensive and not even that good. Econ Master is replaced by superior item. Econ Master boost 80% income and Napoleonic code boost 100%, and overwrites econ master sadly. Bugle is less good on Infantry as there is less terrain effect. Leadership's the only merit he offers with 4* training. You don't need him. BTW he's also IAP, forgot if he cost 6 or 8. I think it's 8.
Washington suffers the same issue as Wellesley with Banner/Econ Master, but has Mass Fire and 5* training instead of Bugle. Also has Leadership. Washington is very decent but costs 8 emblems, and honestly Lannes is better than Washington. Victoria has 4 effective skills, as to Washington with 2.
Hybrids
- Lannes can be great for Artillery and Cavalry, especially Artillery with Leadership.
- Murat can be trained in Artillery to be better than Sophia theoretically. Ney can also do something similar but he will be a bit weaker than Sophia.
- Sakurako is a free general, a princess, not as demanding as her sister Lan. She has Strike/Bugle/Accurate, all Evasion-deprival skills, and a trash skill called Banner. Starts with 2* on all categories other than mov and training which are 4*. Can serve as a great generalist
- Poniatowski is often mentioned for Hybrid with Leadership/Assault Art/Geography/Fireproof. But Fireproof is terrible. Leadership and Assault Art and Geography in theory makes him as good as Lannes on Cavalry/Artillery, but Lannes is the better option because he's also good at Infantry with Mass Fire.
- Davout is a popular IAP art/cav hybrid. Surprise/Explosive/Geography/Assault Art. Missing Strike/Accurate.
Overall Recommendation
Artillery: Isabela, Sophia
Cavalry: Lan, Berthier
Infantry: Lannes, Victoria
If you have space: Sakurako
On F2P 4 slots, you should get Isabela, Sophia, Lan. That's the classic. Infantry is less important. After they are trained, most people get Victoria on 4th slot. Be warned though, you can't train anyone anymore once you do that until you regroup one of your princesses. Princesses never come back.
