I just came back to WC4 after a very, very long time. Honestly I have nothing more to add here that people haven't already said, I just find it extremely funny that:
(1) Easytech finally made a conquest mode where your allies can actually fight and win outside of EW6, and
(2) You can win 1943 and 1950 without fighting, just by being a war financier to fund the Soviets (1943) or bribe West Germany into joining the Warsaw Pact (peak comedy) in 1950.
(3) Winning as some small countries in Challenge Conquest is hilariously easy comparing to regular 1950 or 1980 (assuming of course that you don't have god tier generals and unique units yet).
Also, big fan of the fact that they brought cool mechanics from other games into Challenge Conquest (better diplomacy, a reasonable tech tree, unique units) and fixed the countries so that their allegiance makes a little bit more sense (Imperial Iran allied with the US, Italy in NATO, West Germany joining NATO at turn 14). Of course I can nit-pick all day about how East Germany doesn't even exist (seriously why, just give them Berlin and Prague and pretend that Czechoslovakia didn't exist; then move West Germany's capital to Cologne which is close enough to Bonn I guess), or how is Yugoslavia pro-Soviet in 1950, or that West Papua wasn't part of Dutch New Guinea in 1950, but with the amount of content Easytech added I honestly couldn't be mad at them for those miniscule details.
Enjoy the update fellas, see you all at the battle.
PS: Whoever from the dev team that put in the Lvl9 Hind helicopter with Novikov on it in 1950 can take a short walk off a long cliff.

I think they confused ifferent periods , namely the hoped for Antillan Federation of the late 1800s.

I think they confused ifferent periods , namely the hoped for Antillan Federation of the late 1800s. A lot of the conquest isn't quite historically accurate - Ethiopia being under Soviet control when in reality the Durg didn't overthrow Haile Selassie until 1974, or Thailand being a member of WTO when it was a monarchy which was more aligned with anticommunism than communism. Mexico owns Panama which oversimplifies that region (including the fact that the USA owned the canal at that time), France being in full control of French Indochina when by the 1950s, the French was losing control of the region to the Viet Minh. This also dovetails into a lot of the Cold War doesn't cleanly fall into alliances like WWII does mainly because of the proxy war nature of it - the Soviets and Americans clashing would certainly lead to ruin! But, I'm willing to forgive all of those for cleaning up the normal 1950 conquest's border gore in Africa and trend towards a more historically accurate portrayal, and the fact that it's still a fun game, historical inaccuracies and all. Plus, there's a fine line between realism and gameplay - dividing all the Central American states up would probably be more of a hassle than it is worth.
I still get a laugh at the Falklands War not actually being fought between the British and Argentinians in game - most of the heavy lifting is done by Brazil who crushes the poor Argentinians. It is annoying though when I'm trying to finish the ally all task though, where it ruined my attempt with the USA since Argentina joined WTO before I could bribe them to join me instead.
And one more thing - the 1960 conquest intrigues me. Will we see even more generals added from that time period? Will we finally see Vietnam portrayed in an ET game? (No, EW5 doesn't count, Angkor is Cambodia.)

Yeah, at this point I just accept the fact that there is a limitation to the map of WC4, that certain compromises have to be made in regards to map size and countries to still have fun gameplays (because sweet Lord Jesus himself do I despise EW6 maps for how much time you spend just moving troops around without doing any fighting). Historical accuracy comes second when all you have is a map painting mobile game and not a Hearts of Iron IV mod, But for how much time they spent on adding that zing to the 1950 challenge conquest map, it wouldn't hurt to go just a bit extra and adding those really big parts of the Cold War (like, you know, East Germany, lmao). I like the update too much to be tough with them on those things though. Also, I do think that it would make sense for North/South Vietnam to be portrayed in 1960 conquest the same way North/South Korea are portrayed in 1950 conquest. The fact that they only have a single city honestly doesn't seem to matter that much, considering South Korea gets curbstomped by turn 3 every single game. And since they properly added "Hanoi" and "Saigon" as named cities for 1950 challenge conquest, I think it's an indication that they are willing to consider adding Vietnam for 1960.
