How to trigger whatever event in this stage? I tried sneaking in the forest to no avail. Or we just to brute force it?

I attacked the castle on the right. This triggered a cavalry attack on the green forces in the centre. After capturing the right hand castle i attacked left. The general on the Left castle disappeared after a couple of hits. Brute force more or less.

On Normal, I succeeded using brute force. Kuki Yoshitaka and Kuroda Kanbei, lvl 10 pirates. Won on Turn 16. You cause the enemy to charge by attacking the towers or enemies while heading to the coastal city it, probably not using a forested tile, or attacking head-on.
I found a clip on ET Facebook based on the recommended method. You have to keep to the forested tiles around the western mountains and the northern tower. Then, when one unit from both parties are ready, move towards the NE (western force) and circle the tower towards the SW (northern force). The goal is to attack a cavalry unit from both directions at the same time.
This will lead to two sets of morale drops and confuse the enemy. This also leads to 3 units being summoned and 3 green Reinforcement circles appearing to the south.

One thing I noticed are two things:
1. Morale will drop if you get closer to the left and right side near the base respectively. Mostly few allied troops would survive.
2. If you divide your troops, one to conquer chungju and the other to help your ally, it can help trigger a scenario:
Once you have conquered or capture chungju and defeated most of the cavalry, a scenario will trigger in which the general residing the base will leave. Take in mind that you should enough turns to take over the base or else it will keep popping out troops.

Triggering the reinforcements is very tricky. You have to stay on Forest tiles at least 3 tiles from any enemy unit with all 4 units. You need to trigger both morale drops by moving beside a cavalry unit on both the left and right hand side. But if you attack with the unit that triggered the first morale drop, before triggering the second morale drop, no reinforcements.

Yep, pretty much what you need to ensure your units will demoralize eveyrone so make em close at the same time

Does this work for hard difficulty as well? I brute forced it the normal difficulty. I couldn't find the FB pictures or video.

Just make sure your Western pair steers clear of Jong-Jang’s view, to avoid him charging you. But once the reinforcements are triggered, it’s a piece of cake.
