How to beat this level? I tried to fight the enemies at the center of map but they ignored me and killed the target. I tried blockading the enemy one square away from the target until Date and reinforcements arrive. The reinforcements killed my troops and the target . Is the power of my troops too low or is there an event that I should trigger to win it?

There is a good discussion of this one in the Library in the forum guide. Basically I think I attacked for one turn and retreated to keep them 2 squares from the target unit. Check your equipment and I suggest using all your healing items. I was stuck on this for a while as it does come down to having enough killing power to avoid being overwhelmed.

Thanks. I won it after getting my troops to lvl 8-10 and giving my generals some decent equipment (barely on the last turn with 8 dry food used). Killing power is necessary. Had to use the dry food to survive my reinforcements . Feels bad considering I have to redo it in hard mode .

Well done. They give you an extra general on hard mode which is a big help.

I’m just able to keep him alive for all 14 turns, but how am I supposed to also have enough time or troops left to go on the offensive and take out Goto?

My experience: Progressing through campaigns(I was at Honno ji incident at that time) and tenkabito will be helpful to increase the levels of your troops and getting and upgrading equipment. I couldn't even survive 10 rounds earlier.
I used, Date, Keiji, Li Rusong and Musashi each at lvl 20 and rank 1,3,1,1 respectively.
I made a cloud save before attempting it. I attacked in the first round to eliminate two ashigaru spears and retreated one square away from the target. So that the unblocked tiles will be forests and mountains at the two corners of my troops.
If one or two enemy horses got past the blockade, I would eliminate them. If too much got through, I restarted. After like 4 attempts I got the ideal situation. I prioritised Date to attack the enemy archers and teppo behind the melee units. Date was on mounted Teppo, those guys could attack like twice or thrice a turn and eliminate low health enemies quickly. My two cavalry took most of the damage (I gave them healing equipment, yet had to use 8 dry food). On turn 14, i killed the last remaining enemy general.
