This is a big project - will take some time but will be covering all non iap(including feature shop) generals and my personal ranking on it. Here it will be separated into the "military academies" on the map instead of gold/silver/bronze tiers since this is nonexistent in this game unlike others. Every general will be listed in its price. Featured shop gens will be on its own.
Purple: Must-buy
Cyan: Worse than purple but still worth it
Green: Considerable but has limiting factors
Yellow: So-so
Orange: Bad
Red: Just don't buy it unless you don't want to follow game mechanics
Berlin Military Academy:
Guderian: Definitely worth it. Blitzkrieg lv 4 + Plain fighting lv 4 is undefeatable
Rommel: Slightly behind Guderian due to anti armor lv 1 + mostly useless desert fighting
Donitz: Good, but why a naval general wants industrial expert ...
Model: Trash costing 3000 medals - Low rank, bad skills
Rundstedt: Infantry general with blitzkrieg ?
Goering: one of the best air gens, but for late to endgame since you have sansonetti
Kesselring: Mt. Fighting lv 4 + Inf leader lv 1 does not help too much
Leeb: Not that bad but why not just get Govorov with better skills and 200 less medals
Braudchitsch: A cheaper version of Leeb, but still worse than Govorov
Bock: Guderian lite but street fighting is meh
Raeder: Other cheaper choices are available
List: Would have been good with plain fighting, but he doesn't have it
Student: Meh - Needs a teacher
Schorner: Crap
Weichs: perhaps can substitute Badogolio
Kuchler: Worse version of Weichs
Heinrici: Don't see the point of him
Kleist: Tank version of Heinrici
Mantstuffel: Not as bad as Kleist but worse than Meyer
Keitel: Just like Mantstuffel
Witzleben: Kleist 2.0
Greim: 4 air stars at this price is relatively acceptable but skills are bad
Kluge: Frankly lv 4 blitzkrieg does not help
Meyer: This guy can replace Crerar
Paulus: Just a bad inf gen
West Point Military Academy (New York):
Macarthur: 3500 medals is way too expensive
Patton: On par with Rommel, with street instead of desert
Nimitz: Still usable but why not just use Sansonetti when u need 3000 medals for him
Bradley: American version of Model
Arnold: This guy deserves more attention as he's not really that far from Goering and is much faster
Clark: A whole mess that I don't understand
Halsey: Not bad, but as I said numerous times, just use sansonetti
Krueger: Useless skills
Spruance: Perhaps considerable at his price
Devers: Cheaper and better alternatives
Fletcher: Acceptable at this price
Eaker: Meh
Doolittle: Nth better
Smith: Is him an inf gen or nav gen?
King: Not the king of this game
Stilwell: Useless
Chennault: Stilwell 2.0
Kinkaid: Perhaps so-so at his price
Mitscher: Crap nav gen
McAuliffe: Stilwell 3.0
Lee: Worse version of Kinkaid
McCain: Lee 2.0
Frunze Military Academy(Moscow)
Rokossovsky: Gurreilla lv 1? But he's a tanker
Konev: Still good but Govorov is half his price with equal power
Timoshenko: Fast but street fighting doesn't help
Chuikov: Inf leader with art leader = 1/2 of the 4 skills are trash
Vasilevsky: He's in fact pretty useful
Govorov: There's an ongoing dispute between him and Sikorski on who's the best f2p arty gen. Govorov wins in terms of skills but he's slow, which hurts him a lot.
Vatutin: Like Govorov, his weak point is his speed
Bagramyan: TIR lv 4 might help a bit but why this costs 1000 medals?
Malinovsky: So-so
Kuznetov: why would a nav gen want fortification ...
Voronov: Clearly below par
Meretskov: trash
Novikov: Air version of Meretskov
Choe: Only Kim Jong-Un would want to buy him Meretskov 2.0
Sokolovsky: pretty bad but better than meretskov
Shaposhnikov: Meretskov 3.0
Isakov: Kuznetov 2.0
Voroshilov: Meretskov 4.0
Budyonny: Meretskov 5.0
International military academy:(Istanbul)
Mannerheim: Only this general is worth mentioning but he's still a long way from being good
All others in this military academy are trash so I'll just skip them
Royal military academy:(London)
Montgomery: Rommel lite, but some skills do not work. His air stars compensate it partially though
Dowding: Goring lite but u can just get Goring with 100 more medals
Alexander: His skills aren't useful at all
Slim: Just on par since forest fighting is acceptable
Cunningham: 5 stars with this price should be ok, but skills don't help
Mountbatten: What the hell is this? Skills don't help each other out
Wavell: Crerar is better
Blamey: So bad so I dunno how should I describe him
Pound: Cheap nav gen but meh skills
Auchinleck: Just get Crerar
Wingate: More acceptable with raider lv 4
Dill: British Smith
Portal: Very cheap air gen with good skills May be yellow for old version players
Thimayya: Only terrain skills
Dempsey: Ultimate trash
Crace: Australian Kinkaid but worse
China military academy (Nanjing)
Lin B.: Artillery general with inf skills
Peng D. H.: Somehow Mannerheim lite
Zhang Z. Z.: Lin B. 2.0
Li Z. R.: Two stars for 1800 medals ?
Bai C. X.: Wasn't that bad but now Sikorski is in game and he's out - green for old version
