Since Jean-Luc Picard has already posted his plans for his TW, i may as well give my ideas for mine!
The time span: 1836-1914, aka the Victorian Era. There will be a whole host of different aspects to this, so please stay with me on this.
1. Colonization. Bismarck I already planned this for his, but unfortunately he won't be continuing his war (Sad face), so i may as well incorporate it into mine. Here's how colonization will work: Each "Imperial Nation" (Countries which can colonize) will have anywhere from 1-2 colonists to send out and colonize the world over. The way i determine whether or not you gain 1 or 2 colonists is purely historical: Since Britain and France colonized most of the world, they gain 2 colonists, but since countries like Portugal and Germany didn't colonize as much, they gain 1 colonist. And countries such as the Ottomans and Austria will NOT be able to colonize no matter what.
Now onto how to colonize your land. When you send your colonist out to a region to colonize it, you have to decide what status to give your colony, of which there are three statuses: The first status is a Settler Colony. Settler Colonies take longer to gain control of, but you can get less revolt risk in the province and it is quicker to develop the region. The second is an extraction colony. Extraction colonies are faster to gain control of and can extract more resources, but more revolt risk and slower to develop. The third is a protectorate. A Protectorate is the quickest to gain control of, but have more revolt risk, can extract less resources, and are the slowest to develop.
Stats:
Settler Colonies: Takes three turns to gain control of province. Least amount of revolt risk. Average resource extraction. Quickest to develop.
Extraction Colonies: Takes two turns to gain control of province. Average revolt risk. Best resource extraction. Average development speed.
Protectorates: Takes one turn to gain control of province. Most revolt risk. Worse resource extraction. Worse development speed.
Resources:
Each province produces a resource. These are typically agricultural or industrial goods in already occupied land, and raw materials in uncolonized land. Certain materials will give anything from a boost in technology, to a higher army limit, to better army speed.
Development:
Development is based on both the amount of your accepted culture in the province and the development of urban areas in the province. Your accepted culture depends on your country, and is typically fairly obvious if you're in Europe, Asia or North America. South America and Africa are a bit more complicated in terms of culture, but ill explain later. In order for a province to be developed, at least 95% of the province's population must be your accepted culture. In order to develop urban areas in a province, the province must already have at least 50% of your accepted culture in the province. Once 50% of your accepted culture is in a province, it will take three turns for a city to be established in the province. This happens automatically.
Why have industry?:
The more developed provinces in your country, the higher score your country gains. Each developed province is worth ten points, and whoever has the highest amount of points by the end of the game wins.
Will expand on this further later.
