The star system in world conqueror 3 is unrealistic, here's my reason: -There is one thing with cities, the more cities, the more stars (More Cities, more attention, Poland 1939!) -I can agree that some of the 1 star countries falls in that category because they have bad military or tech, but that does not explain why Finland 1939 can be so easy! -Location is everything for me! If I start in a very rough terrain, reaching me will be harder, therefore defence will be easier. -Distraction, Let me explain, Poland for example was scripted into becoming an distraction for the two big powers in europe to fight (Russia and Germany) If it wasn't for Poland being a scapegoat, the war between Russia and Germany would never happen. -Countries should not be classified if they are bad, USA can suck, when they are your ally, Japan can suck too, So classifying a country by its actions, should be a criteria, not by its military. -A small force lead by a Lion can defeat a big force lead by a Goat!

Yep, unrealistic. I bet most of us could at least name like 5 examples off the top of our heads.
What I think Easytech was doing with the ratings is to set some kind of a standardized assumption of how things are based on a metric. They chose to use the cities as a measurement. That's bound to not quite reflect the true situation a country will go through.
There's some oddbals that Easytech didn't follow their own method which is weird and inconsistent. Examples:
Brazil and Egypt in 1943 - 1 star each even though they both starts with THREE cities and they are on the easier side (the Allies in 1943). Also India isn'tthat much stronger than Egypt but it's rated as 2 stars and Egypt is 1 star, weird. Should be considered ** not *.
Iran 1950 - two stars but only one city, Tehran and no access to nuclear weapons (1960 gives them nukes finally). It's fine if Iran is easier than other 1 star nations so they should be a 2 star nation, but how are they any stronger than Iraq for example? In 1950, there's no real difference between those two countries. According to normal Easytech standards, should be considered * not **.

And in alien conquest things get turned flipside-down as 3 star countries have to manage holding off much more aliens than some 1 star countries. I initially thought stars refers to the wealth of said country, but reward for completion bugs me about it.

This game is nowhere near realistic as for example in1939 in reality Baltic States were occupied after Poland(they didn't even start to war), but here Poland is still standing.

Axis in 1939 is one or two star is very easy to take over Europe then the allies. Took me less then 15 turn for Europe to be under axis. For allies about 20-24 turns to free Europe from Germany
