I would say 1943 Allies such as Mexico is certainly possible as an autoplay but it's a more shaky choice in comparison to Spain 1939 which is more reliable.

Finland 1939 is also pretty good. I use that for 39, and used Spain in 43.

Even when I'm just starting a 43 game in Asia/Pacific like India or Japan, Spain still always dies all by itself before I turn my attention to Europe. I didn't even touch it, and it was running by the enemy AI which is a lot stronger than the ally AI. I don't think I could make Spain 43 autoplay from turn 1 and win. I forgot which country did work but I didn't really test it again. Industry isn't given by any conquests 43, 50, 60. Only 39 and 75 do give it, so I don't really do an autoplay except 1939. I do switch to autoplay sometimes for the mop-up phase but that's not a true autoplay farming.

I've only autoran Spain twice but was successful using my method both times. Make army, drop generals and go to sleep. The second time it didn't "auto" win, I had to mop up Brisbane. Though turning off AI and cleaning up yourself is always recommended because it's quicker obvi. I've never actually tried any other conquests on autoplay from turn 1 because Finland always failed me like that lol until I started building a small force first. Maybe success has a lot to do with people's different level techs and general line up. I'm very curious now, so I'm going to give Spain 43 and Finland 39 both tries.. For the sake of experimenting I guess. Both from turn 1, and see how it goes without my aid.

I'd go Spain, as everyone said. Why? Industry. Industry is a scarce resource, when compared to the others (Only 1939 gives you it...). It tends to help you get the medal wonders, as well.

You could also get one from 1975. But unless you have at least 4 arty gens (Govorov, Konev, Bai C.X. (or Leeb, he is better for Union (alien), NATO, and Allies. Bai is better for WTO/Axis), and your upgraded commander (costs roughly 8k for arty)) and max tech, then don't do it. In 39, better play as: France/UK/ USSR, best for rush, bad for beginner. Hungary/ Norway, good for rush (probably need good tank, air, and arty gens for rush), good for beginner. Finland/ Bulgaria, best for beginner, not good for rush.

Well in that case, it's better to play the first 20 turns and switch to autofarm once you have the whole Europe under the Axis control. Finland gives twice the industry in comparison to Spain but both does pretty much the same later on anyway, taking 100 turns or even 190 turns sometimes. 2,000 industry is better than 1,000 industry.

Admittedly, yeah. I just hate fighting the Russians...Three words, my friend. Too many generals.

Any tips/suggestions for getting the conquest to work? How much of an army should I build and what generals do I need? If you want, I can tell you what gens I have
