I've attempted 30+ times and after modification upon modification of strategy I finally completed the challenge.
The requirement below is not an option: it is a must.
[Requirement]
* All 9 gold, steel, oil wonders
* A strong tank general (I used Guderian HP 170) << 4+ movement required
* A strong artillery general with high HP (I used Manstein) << +1 movement required
* A strong artillery general with mid HP (I used Govorov HP 170)
* A strong infantry general with mid HP (I used Zhukov) << 1+ movement required
* A strong navy general with high explosive & mid HP (I used Eisenhower) << 3+ movement required
* Optional: air general (I used Patton)
[Game condition]
Initial Resources: 200 Gold / 200 Steel / 100 Oil
Target Resources: 800 Gold / 700 Steel / 600 Oil
8 Turns
Given Units:
1 Super Tank (10 consumption)
1 Rocket Artillery (4 consumption)
1 Field Artillery (4 consumption)
1 Commando (0 consumption)
1 Battleship (9 consumption)
1 Carrier (11 consumption)
[Targets]
Since wonders produce 60+ each turn, they produce 480+ total. Thus, we only need to gather extra 120 Gold / 20 Steel.
For this plan, here are the numbers of move and oil consumption made by each units:
Super Tank - 3 moves (30 consumption)
Rocket Artillery - 3 moves (12 consumption)
Field Artillery - 5 moves (20 consumption)
Battleship - 3 moves (27 consumption)
Carrier - 0 move (0 consumption)
(commando does not consume oil)
In total, 89 oil is consumed. Required extra oil: 600 - (100 - 89) -480 = 109
※Target Resources: 120 Gold / 20 Steel / 109 Oil
Following are the targets for the mission and you MUST achieve every single one of them:
*Capture oil field (+10) at bottom in TURN 3 and hold it for 1 turns.
*Capture oil field (+20) on left in TURN 4 and hold it for 5 turns.
*Capture the port (+4) in TURN 1 and hold it for 2 turns.
*Recapture the port in TURN (7 or 8) and hold it for 1 turn.
*Capture the city (+36/+15) in TURN 4 and hold it for 3 turns.
Total gold gathered: (+36)x3 + (+4)x3 = 120
Total steel gathered: (+15)x3 = 45
Total oil gathered: (+10)x1 + (+20)x5 = 110
[Turn 0]
Assign The generals as follow. (Look back at [Requirement] to see their respective roles.)
*Super tank & Field artillery will move right to capture oil filed(+10) and the city.
*Commando & Rocket artillery will move left to capture oil field (+20).
*Carrier will hold position and bomb any target according to situation.
*Battleship will move upwards to weaken the tower so your general can hold long enough after he captures the oil field. His goal is not to destroy it (he can't) reducing its health to half is good enough.
[Turn 1]
Move the generals accordingly. The battleship should not move to the upper left hex or it will be attacked by the tower.
Use carrier to bomb the oil field(+20).
[Turn 2]
On the left, attack the oil field with Zhukov and Govorov. Govorov must attack from plain, as in the picture.
On the right, attack the UFO with both. They must land exactly where they are (both on plains). The position cannot be reversed as then Guderian will not be in reach for the city when he needs to.
With Carrier, attack the UFO.
Move the battle ship as shown and attack the tower. Be sure to move him after Govorov finishes his job, to avoid splash damage.
[Turn 3]
The UFO would have been destroyed. Take Oil field with Manstein and attack the alien carrier with both. Guderian MUST NOT MOVE.
Move battleship to leftmost where he can attack the tower, while free of splash damage and out of range from other alien units in the top isle.
Attack the oil field with Zhukov and Govorov. After that, if you think you can one shot the alien ship with Govorov, use carrier to bomb an alien in the right. If not, bomb the one on the oil field.
[Turn 4]
The city would have been destroyed. Immediately take it with Guderian. Move Manstein upwards too (he can be at a hex left too.), which means abandon that (+10) oil field. First you don't need it, and second it will hold that UFO idle forever. With Guderian, first attack any weak alien you can destroy with one shot first. If there isn't, attack the one at the bottom. With Manstien, attack UFO>ship priority.
Battleship from now on keep attacks the tower until it dies. There is no point in holding fire as the tower will never attack him but keep bombard the oil field.
Kill the alien with Govorov (without moving) and take the oil field with Zhukov. If Govorov doesn't kill it, clean it up with bombing.
Use carrier to bomb the ship on the port. If he's dead, attack whatever you want to.
[Turn 5]
Guderian would be dead or barely dead (if mid-health). If he's dead, take the city with Manstein. If he's almost dying, give him the opportunity to die in honour (Attack any alien with high-health, able to kill him) and then take the city with Manstein.
If your Guderian is well promoted and is still strong enough to survive another turn, let him and hold position with Manstein. Of course, both of them attack.
If Zhukov has enough health to survive another shot from the tower, hold his potiion and Govorov's. If not, move Zhukov one hex down one hex right as shown below in turn 6, and take oil field with Govorov.
If some aliens come to attack the position, forget Zhukov's health and just move him down and move Govorov up. Of course, open fire!
Keep charging with battleship. He'll die in honour. Carrier? Trust your feelings.
[Turn 6]
Manstein should be doing fine so far. Attack whichever target you feel like you should. However, don't kill near-death ones as that's wasting his firepower.
If you have moved Zhukov in the previous turn, move him to the southeast sea hex. If not, move him to the position on the picture.
Govorov must from now on hold position and survive. If during any point you lose that oil field you must restart.
From now one you must not spend any more oil.
[Turn 7]
If Manstein has survived so far, hurray! He can now rest in peace. You can lose the city, but please don't move Manstein.
If, however, you lost the city, restart.
If Zhukov is in the posiion in the picture, move him to the sea hex I described. If he's already there, take the port.
Again, Govorov must have survived.
[Turn 8]
Make sure Govorov survives.
[Turn 9]
Did he survive? YESSSSSS You have won!
Did he die? Restart.
