Wow I guess I am the only who speaks french as a first language here! If I lived 50km farther Southwest I would've had French as primary language too

I am from PRC but I live in Singapore,in Singapore english is the working language to communixate with the other races, and chinese is also important as I study in a SAP school, which is schools recongised by the government to be a school that specialises in English and Chinese languages.

Other: I learnt American Sign Language first then English. I still speak primarily in ASL rather than English. But of course, for writing, ASL has no form on papern, so I read and write in English. ASL can't really work out too well on paper because it's 3D rather than 2D. :sunglasses:

ASL can't really work out too well on paper because it's 3D rather than 2D. :sunglasses: ASL? Do/did you have some form of hearing condition? I'm Deaf. Being Deaf is not necessary to learn ASL as a primary language btw, a hearing child may be born into a Deaf family and learn ASL first. This child would be called a CoDA (child of Deaf adult). Maybe 90% of children born to a Deaf couple tends to be hearing. And 90% of Deaf population tends to have no Deaf parents (this can cause massive issues in people's lives due to lack of connection provided by the hearing parents). I happen to be a rare occasion. I am Deaf but also born to a pair of Deaf parents. Keep in mind, Deaf and all... it's just being in a minority group that uses a different way to communicate rather than being a disabled people like the other types that we always get clumped together. Nobody else has this unique characteristic, so I stand by what I said and insist that there's a great difference between hearing loss and being Deaf. Of course, any further questions, I can answer in a separate thread.
