Ok time to try a small country and see how it turns out. This conquest as usual is done with all the crapy generals I posted earlier, of course none of them upgraded whatsoever. This conquest with minor country strated rather quick as Egypt was attacked almost right away. By the time I was ready for europe the AI had so much ressources I though for sure I was gonna loose, because of the non-stop air bombing and paratrooper drops. The conquest took a very long time to finish mainly because 1star countries start so weak, but also in this game my allies basically did nothing for the longest time, specially the russians they basically took a long nap during my game. No achievement in this game since it took so long and no wonders unlocking either. But the ressources and medals..ahh sweetness! This 1950 Egypt conquest was much harder and longer than the 1943 India conquest where I finished in only 57 turns and was awarded achievement and 2 unlocked wonders.

Definitively harder to play 1 star countries in 50 and 60 compared to earlier imo.

I tried 1950 for the first time. That was my third conquest. I've done 1939 twice. So I also have taken Egypt and made it in 123 rounds. Can't find the correct strategy. Generals are not that important. They are only needed to take half of Europe to raise the economy. But then airstrikes are much more usefull. The enemy blows the shoot out of the generals with simple missles without any problem. Guys on supertanks were severely damaged by aircraft carriers when trying to go to USA. So, I simply don't know how to combat NATO in a proper way... I assume I need to hire couple of air generals... Any advices are welcome!

I mostly agree with you. -Generals died really fast from airstrike/missiles. -Ninja assassination of general is very common. -Airstrike+paratroop are very important for speed play So these are my suggestions -you can reduce the chance of your general being nuked by not putting him in a big city. From my experience, Krakow and Warsaw are among the worsts. -I find that chance of getting nuked decreases when I play small country that is not a direct target of major power. Like they don't give a shoot about my existence. -Keep at least 1 tank general on super tank healthy for clearing paratrooper spam in late game. -Upgrading airstrike at HQ does really help. Extra air force range is a game changer. -For attacking USA, I find it easier to from Alaska. Once you take the city, given that you have nukes in your pocket and upgraded air range to 8, you can also take Vancouver, San Francisco, and Los Angeles on the very same round.

Playing Saudi Arabia in 1960 is fun too. Kinda challenge in the early phase of the game since you are surrounded by enemies Egypt, Iraq, Iran and CCCP (India and Thailand will join later too) but that means you have many cities to take.

That's what I needed. My range is not sufficient enough, that's why it was so difficult to go through Alaska. I was saving for the Piramids and City of Cuzco. But now it is done and I'll go for the air range.

The chinese players put a huge importance to air power so much so that they prioritize a good air general second after getting Gudarian.
They nicknamed Goering "the hand of God".. hilarious stuff I wish I saved the link. They buy an air general right away or build him from scratch. If I read the article correctly air stars also help in defense against air? probably need to test that.
I have not much experimented with air power yet I really prefer traditional ground combat and all the walkthru that I have done were from version 1.0.0 where conquest were supposedly easier, now I am playing the updated version,so I'll find out soon enough how much harder it really is.

Dowding from Royal military academy and Arnold from West Point Military Academy mayde your second choices.
