Cities don't give prestige, but instead cities go to their own section.

The Infrastructure/City Section

For each city you build, you gain 1 infrastructure point. So right now you have one infrastructure point, basically.

French authority in the Holy Land:
In the Ottoman Empire, Christians have typically been pressed, but the Orthodoxy in the Levant has been protected every since a Russo-Turkish Treaty in the 1640's, stating that the Orthodox Christians in the empire shall not be persecuted. If we were to approach the Ottomans asking for the rights of the Orthodox to instead be transferred to the Catholics in the Empire, it would give our country great prestige and would give us the opportunity to show our superiority over the Russians.
France:

Cavour's Diplomacy:
Following the failure to capture Lombardia and to free the countries of Parma, Tuscany and Modena from Habsburg, one of our top diplomats, Henry Cavour, has approached the French government for possible aid in a war against Austria. We will lose the territories of Savoy and Nice, but in return we would gain French assistance in case of a possible Austrian attack.

The Oregon Trail was a route taken by American settlers in the 1840's and 1850's in order to get to the Western reaches of the USA. Many died of dysentery on the way, and the wagon trail was the inspiration for the game "Oregon Trail".
