Well I got her two days back (first princess by now) and she's being upgraded but I don't know that for which type is she good for? Cavalry or artillery? Her explosive trait is for artillery, I tried putting her on artillery and got not a good response, btw I know isabella is good for artillery but don't know about sophia.

Sophia is no expert for one unit type. In my world she got 2 general advantages: siege master and spy. So she is for taking cities and fortresses. But into which kind of unit you put her isnt so important. I would probably use artillery, but she needs imporvement.
Btw, I dont use her at all, but waited for Isabella.

She is one of the best starting general -untill you get isabella-. She should only be used as an artillery unit. Some campaigns have more fortifications and she does great there.
She needs the +2 movement item though.

Sophia is my one of my best 6 generals and, imo, best artillery general that does not required real money (together with Isabela). She is definitely better than Napoleon. Spy skill is super useful in campaign missions too.

Take care of that fine general by upgrading her artillery skill to max,and giving her movement gear and potent powder. She is well worth it and like kanue pointed out:
Sophia > Napoleon

She hits fortifications much harder than Isabela and some campaigns have like forts chokeholds and Sophia can really shine there, but she is too slow without a movement item, she doesn't have the geography skill like Isabela.

Assign Sophia to heavy art. and train her up to 5 star - and you will know the result. I am also planning to train her movement because of her great usefulness of wiping off fortresses...
Isabella is also a great arty general if one trains her to 5-star arty general. Both of them can go for a lightning campaign with cavalry if u improve/perfect them

She's already two-starred in my game, got her on an upgraded siege artillery and negative 135 out of a fort, between she has started working like a tier one artillery general as well

She and Isabella are my only arty generals! I dun need to spend any medal on another one I plan to make Sakurako my third arty general... she has Accuracy, which make enemies unable to avoid her cannonballs

My Sophia is 4 stars (125) with the horse artillery for movement and the powder. She is without a doubt my strongest general. Sophia carried me all the way to the America campaign nearly by herself because Im too lazy to complete conquests. ?

Sophia has great stats and best part we can get her pretty early and keep her for the entire game. She needs that +2 movement item asap though specially when using her on heavy artillery.

Currently I was using her in reconstruction of empire and when she shoots on a small fort (the wooden one which has 160 health) she does minus 161 that is probably the biggest single-shot-fort-down damage I saw in my life, though I have seen murat do minus 180 or minus 190 but that made me baffled. I also did a test lately, in siege of mantua, I used napoleon and sophia (sophia is about to die) against the mantua fort so here is what I got. Napoleon--> minus 75 Sophia --> minus 89 This CLEARLY shows her importance
