Frederick the Great you said you can give a few solutions regarding espionage. i would like to hear them. I haven't really started thinking too deeply about yet but my ideas would involve nerfing some attacks and changing what some do. I also might add techs that give extra spies and allow your allies to do counter Intel for you (so a smaller nation might make his spies help protect his big brother). More will come out in my teaser thread as I develop things.

And after speaking to somone in PM whose username I can't remember so I can't tag him, I remembered that I had suggested a dice roll for attacks when the espionage system was first revealed. Thanks for reminding me of this, person who's username I forgot and nickname I can't spell.

It's up to the GM to have an espionage system or not. A TW doesn't HAVE to have one. It doesn't have to have a tech tree for example if a GM wants the players to focus on a specific mechanism as a different style or something.
I was thinking maybe if there's plenty of monarchs/generals for the era in my TW15, I would give each nation a timeline of leadership that gives postive and negative bonuses or events that may or may not pop up. EU4 style, you know? This could replace my tech tree if the TW is balanced that way. And if I would have an espionage system, it would've been a non-standard one to fit the idea of military leadership (monarch/general).

I'm also thinking of what kind of an alternative battle system that doesn't use dice rolls.
I really like the fairness of the Picard system if I'm still doing the normal dice roll battles in my TW, but of course, not all people like it though...
