You've said this twice but never told it?? Y u leave in da mid bro?!!?! Oh right sorry... it's American Sign Language. I started speaking it at age of 2, formed complete sentences in ASL at 3, but I didn't start learning English until I was 4 in preparation for eventual placement into a school. Then durng the whole school years from kindergarten to 12th grade, I use English every day in the classroom. It really helps having a strong first language before learning a second language to lay down the foundation for the student.

I agree with Desophaeus and Frederick the Great, an area with a population ~100,000 is not a large city...like at all. My home city of Buffalo has i want to say around around a million people if you include the surrounding suburbs. The metropolitan area itself has only ~250,000 people i believe, but i could be wrong since I don't live in the metropolitan area. So Buffalo is a mediocre city in terms of population I would say, even though we are the second largest city in New York State after NYC (with an astounding 8 and a half million people, jesus christ). All though even nowadays, NYC is smaller than some cities in the world such as Manilla in the Philippines. I guess it does really matter on what you define as big. I remember when I first went to Washington D.C, I thought "My god, this is huge." And then when I went to Chicago the following summer, I was like "D.C doesn't even compare to this".

General William T. Sherman, your rough estimate is spot-on. "As of 2014, Buffalo is the state's second most populous city after New York City with 258,703 residents, and with a population of 1.13 million."

Old data NYC has 11-12 millions. BTW Tokyo has 32-36millions
