There was no English android version when the game first came out,so many of us just played the chinese version while we waited for Easytech to release the game in English. Obviously there is no need for this now.
Btw we will most likely do the same for their next tittle.

Did the progress actually get transferred to the English version?

No, it's a offline game. that will mean if you delete the game your progress will be lost. so when we transferred to the english version all our progress were lost. i'll guess that will be the same on their next one

I remember when I saw WC3 in App Store, downloaded it, saw it was in Chinese and I just said "forget this I'm gonna wait until they make an English translation", then I changed my system language and I saw it was in English.

The Chinese version came out like mounths before the English one on android,I was just glad to have something in the mean time. After a few days of playing it like that, I literally would forget the game was in a foreign language,because I knew what all the buttons did.The only thing that sucked was not being able to read the skill description.
