I will include a new battle system So in order to make it more strategic I think that major battles must be changed So you had roll once per major battle to win Noe you will have to roll 3 times and position your army So for example attacker has 20 men and defender has 17 There is a terrain bonus defined by real map, so city +3, mountains off-1/def+1, lake def+4/off -3, forest off +1/def+2, roads off -1/def-1 So defender has a city and mountains +1 +3 +1 And 17 Men which are stationed like this 6 5 6 That makes 7 8 7 And attacker has just forests 6+1 8+1 6+1 So in front A attacker needs 7-7+7(base number) =7 B 8-9+7=6 C 7-7+7=7
And to win this battle you need 2 victories Note equals aren't victories, but if there is 2 eq and Vic attacker wins and if 2 eq and 1 lose loses.
What do you think? If you guys say a strict no, then we stay on old system. P. S. This system works in battles where there are 15+ armies on both sides Smaller battles stays the same as they are now.

This way it is less possible to be op or unfair

This way it is less possible to be op or unfair maybe Picard formula?

I agree, it can be simpler but still fair. This is Jean-Luc Picard's formula for using 10 dice to determine the needed base number to win a battle. It can be moved down to 2 dice easily. Just change: 35 -> 7, 30 -> 6 (or 30-> 5 if you want less wild swing of luck in the formula). Then... For every 1 point above the base number that the roll is, the attacker takes 2% less casualties and the defender takes 2% more (Casualties are rounded down when below 0.5 unit and rounded up when AT OR ABOVE 0.5 unit off from being a round BP value. If you wishes to maintain the same ratio but with only 2 dice rather than 10 dice rolls, change the 2% -> 10% for every 1 point over or under the base required number. That would definitely work for TW12.

I didn't use the full quote from Jean-Luc Picard on casualties. The same thing applies when the dice roll is below the required base number. Same idea basically. Well, and if the attacker fails to match the required number or better, the defender keeps the city/province/planet/whatever, of course. That's common sense.

Mine idea was if there is 3 battles then there is 3 parts of units and A B C has about the same numbers in both sides and a-a+7(base) =difference +7 Which makes it 3 fair number battles and fair dice calculations

Just curious. If I have to do a battle 3 times to win a region... I don't mind needing to spend 3 turns in a phase doing a capture of an important region, which is generally what TWs are doing so far anyhow. But... for the dice themselves... I still think the Picard system is the best way to determine the dice rolls and their results.

Guys can we test this system (drop out terrain just gives defender a +1 bonus in middle are) in field? (If it doesn't we can always use others) I just think that this is fair enough to everybody and that is the shortest type of precious number battle.

Do we do this battle system in 1 turn?

I love the terrain idea, great. Things are a bit complicated though, like Anders said.

I can but we need more people and a possible shrinking of this system.
