I am new to this game and was wondering if units can heal ?
Do i need to upgrade supplies or put them in a city or harbor?

starlord, they do not heal outside of cities, nor do they heal in harbors, so to repeat they can only heal in cites. Upgrading your supplies means that a ciy's healing ability is increased merely, and it has a maximum of 8hp per a turn. However, generals which have supplies can heal themselves, but only themselves anywhere, and if they are in a city, that is added to it.

I have had a city add +11 hp per turn and my supplies could still be upgraded more. Do you mean regular cities? Or capitols also?

So, for example, if a city has a base +3 HP then with max Supply upgrade, the city will heal +11 HP (+3 base and +8 supply tech)

So ships can't enter cities, therefor the only way for ships to heal is by adding a general or ranking up?

Jean-Luc Picard, i always found good supply generals to be quite useful ,Pound, Riccardi, some Japanese ones to name a few.

In my opinion, Supply is a necessary skill for 1960 conquest because it let your general recover from nuke. And since AI is less likely to nuke an already-nuked general, I even purposely put my Supply general in a city waiting for nuke so that I can use the general without worrying that he will be mysteriously missing.
