Yeah I had that ai behavior before, rare but it happens.I noticed it performed better if I moved some units towards objectives, and manually put units in water before engaging auto.
The ai is pretty consistant once you find a formula to win,it will replicate win results in future game fairly consistently.
So just experiment with different variables, untill you find something that works.

Try using Spain 1939. I used the starting general Franco as well as my three eyes hidden generals on a battleship,on an artillery and on a commando infantry. By turn 200, Europe,Africa and America were conquered, India was the only one left in Asia and Australia was almost defeated. Not quite sure about the success ratio but you can start farming on round 1. Hope this helped

The only problem I am having with Spain 1939 is that the AI groups up all of the units in northern Canada and I run out of turns. If I can catch it in time, I'll just take over manually and finish the game. The success would be 100% if not for this glitch. I have never been defeated by being conquered.

I haven't actually found a good way to do this yet, are you guys maxed out on tech or have really great generals? I'm lvl 22 with the HQ and I'm ready to delete the game, mainly because of the paratrooper spam. It's a *Auto Corrected* AI tactic (as in, not fun in a game design pov) to see a country like China or Japan spam those things when you get within 459 miles of any of their cities.
I also assumed, when I saw this thread, that there was a way to farm with the auto AI. My ipad3 heats up like a *Auto Corrected* with this game running for 6 hours straight, and saltin's right, unless you micromanage the first few turns, it goes nowhere pretty quickly. I think my shortest CTW was with Germany in the 1943 campaign, and it still took like 87 turns. That was about 3 or 4 hours of plugged in ipad watching Netflix on the pc.

So I tried out Spain 1939 and can confirm this works. First attempt and conquest was won in 113 turns. I used two generals, Manstein and Govorov on an artillery each but otherwise left the AI to its own devices from turn one
AI conquered France and Britain as well as Africa but did little else after turn 30ish. Japanese held ground but Germans absolutely dominated the rest of Europe and Asia. Italians were also useful conquering North America. All in all a very useful tip and what I consider a proper FWYS as is achievable from turn one rather than just leaving AI to do the mop up. Reward wise not the greatest but I mainly leave the app running overnight to get the resources/medals from wonders so much better than nothing!
I'd previously found the auto run to be pretty useless so good to know it works on a country with no effort required!

calin dont delete game buddy, hang on and fight till the last man standing! I use a task killer and stop about a million aps running in the background when auto-playing wc3. The biggest offender by far are anti virus aps, they are the number one phone heating device. Anti virus aps=barbque heating equipment! If you clean all that crap running in the background there shoukdnt be a heating problem,at least on my phone thats the case. You can download free aps that will show you which aps are taking way too much cpu time when they arent even supposed too.

So spain is a solid early choice for 1939 then? K we need more of the other eras too especially 1960 if possible.

I found this picture of singlemalt at his guid about 1960: South-Korea I don't know what turn it is (he finished at 85 moves) but as you can see russia and poland took over europe, dont take anyone from europe (not even UK) but choose america, singlemalt hasn't used Auto Play to win this so It might look different, but If you have some good generals it can be possible. (maybe they should allow the Computer to place your generals). If this isn't were you are looking for I tryed

I run spain every night and sometimes while at work. I toss Manstein, goverov and konev and a slifhtly eyes wide on artillery and patton/guderian on tanks. I just take Bordeaux and sometimes Leon. Takes all night but never lost. I was doing this with just manstein/guderian for a long time, just took longer. Thing to keep in mind is if you have the metal wonders you are racking those up.
It takes around 40 or so turns to get a full cashe of metals at the wonders so theoretically you can cash in twice. But I find the metals immensely more valuable and sometimes will just restart after 40 turns without completing the conquest. The game really bogs down after aroumd turn 40. I havent timed it but i think its around an hour or two to 40 turns. This is a great way to farm metals.
Btw... has anound found a year 1943, 1950 or 1960 campaign to farm with minimal effort?
