Best results in the order of the most effective: 1/Nuking: nuke them when they are outside of cities or else they share the damage with the city. 2/Air/missile strikes: works best are the cheapest fighter strafing if you have a general like Goring or similar doing it. Not worth doing if there is air defense, even self air defense like super tanks. In that case strategic bombing or missiles are best. Remember normal air defense like in cities is 1 hex and ALL of the surrounding hexes. 3/Artilery: Range is king as always,if target has range need to swarm it with several rocket artillery so he doesnt retaliate. 4/Morale down:Worked in European war 4 and other Easytech games and still works great. 5/Forced amphibious: Most amphibious or land units at sea attack and defend with oenalties,so dont let them land, block them with any units to keep them at sea! Honorary mention Ion gun,it's only as good as the upgrades to it though.

Normally using additional nuke is not a big deal and important and rich cities have a lot of hitpoints, so I gladly nuke the generals inside the cities.

Well I guess it depend on what kind of a general it is.
Elite generals might have about 450 hps and you only have 1 nuke available then you need to stalk and wait untill he gets out of town.

Thankfully the AI will often not finish the job of terminating you general and give you a break if in the 1960 era you just move your general out of the city. They just get angry when the see a general having a fun party in town
