 If you haven't noticed yet,the 1960 era has huge rewards in conquests,so yeah that means we need to know and understand this era as much as we can. There is the nuke problem,the paratroopers issue,lot more cities with missiles,regular non-missile air power doesn't work as good as it used to,there is the AI assassination of generals problem... Humm..there is more I am sure. |

In 1960, I rely heavily on nuke+paratrooper. I normally just farm till I have around 3000 gold and 6-7 nukes then in one round nuke and drop paratroops on all major enemies's cities with airfield/missile.

I build a few motorized early and send them near major cities,since the AI nukes a lot and use missiles against cities it's higly likely to have an empty city ready for a steal.

1960 has giant signs near all major cities that read:
"DO NOT ENTER.
Under no circumstances are generals allowed inside,fail to comply and you will eat missiles and nukes!"

It turns out that to be able to do the aliens you need 1st to be the master of the 1960 era.
Why you ask? Because we need huge technology upgrades and that means huge amount of ressources and the best way to do that is playing the 1 star countries 1960 conquest over and over.

So then so far Iran and Saudi Arabia best countries to farm the 1960 era.
With Iran being easier because less brutal start but Saudi overall faster conquest.

Does anybody know if it's possible to win as Germany or France in 1960? Despite being in the middle of the warzone.

Wasn't able to keep up with Soviet reinforcements |

Germany in 1960 is really hard. The Soviets don't let you do nothing they keep bombing and nuke me citys. The best thing you can do is try to take out hungary and small soviet countrys taking some citys from the balkans in order to increase your income. But it become really hard since you are not able to use any general (USSR will nuke him).
The second problem i find is that the enemy keep sending reinforcemts and concentrate their whole army on you. That make yoy advance very slowly and when you finally break enemy lines China have already conquered japan and is targeting america...and they have lots of infantry

Managed in 1960 as Brazil to conquer South Africa, half the Middle East, Mexico/Cuba, Japan and all of South America before being pushed back all the way to Brazil after 160ish turns.

I just did Germany 1960. It's hard but very very fun. I took more than 65 turns don't remember how many.
(lvl 8 tank, 7 air, ~3.5K medals in tank generals)
For the first ~15 turns just try and hold Berlin and German cities south of it (don't try and hold other allied territory) by spamming super tanks fast as they missile them down. Also steal a few allied oil rigs, you'll need them for once.

I really like the way Easytech made this game progression,the 1960 era is just plain though.It's clearly meant for when you already have fine tuned all of your tactics. The thing is you really only need to learn 1 country to get the max farming benefit (getting massive amounts of ressources): Iran or Saudi if you prefer. Then if you want to be the first at cracking the most difficult 1960 conquest do South Korea  |

This probably doesnt matter now but i did a germany 1960 the other day and found it quite easy. I believe it was because i was right there ready to stop the reds from capping all the cities, and because they couldnt do that they couldnt paraspam. Once moscow was out it was basically a cleanup job as i had enough money to paraspam china and middle east. |
