VirusTotal is a tool that scans your file with 55 different AV engines and gives you the results. Then, you can analyze the result, use the AV Engine's database, and find out why it was flagged.
It is more reliable than one antivirus engine since the one might miss the "bad stuff". Know that I do factor in which engine flagged the file and how reliable it is
