I thought it'd be better to have its own thread here for further discussion.
Doing a colonization one starting in 1825.
Events will be one of the many (semi)historical revolutions in that period.
All african colonies will be scrapped, need to colonize again (srry france).
Battlefield will be europe + (blanco) africa.
Decided to keep it europe only, why?
Taking over neutrals is way to OP, by making sure most nations are picked and there is only a small amount of neutrals i can ensure that thats not going to happen much.
As for the colonization proces. That is the main reason i seek help, since i think mine is far to complicated.
To colonize isnt hard, you need to research tech and afterwards you can colonize. No ships, but seaprovinces and you just need 1 turn to cross them. Afterwards you need to throw 7s 3 times (just like european battlefield) to get it.
You can conquer enemies colonies just like europe by winning 3 times depending on BP.
Afterwards the complicated thing starts. African provinces arent normal provinces. They dont give storage and when recruting, you wont get an extra man. Africa gives something else. See it as a unique bonus.
Here is one for conquering the egypt
Library of Alexandria, 5 turns.
All your future tech research requires 1 turn less.
Heres another one for conquering libia (= +tunesia)
Carthage, 1 turns
Win next battle. You and your enemy wont lose troops. Can be used one time per phase (You need an extra turn for the battle itself)
What do you think of it?
Rest if the rules are copy pasted from a succesful precessor.
Another slightly complicated thing are my units. I have them a lot. But it shouldnt be complicated. No rules are changed, but i just want it to be a slightly more strategic gameOne question, if you wanted to limit the TW to a smaller area and you wanted this to revolve around the concept of colonize the African continent... instead of Europe + Africa, just have Africa as the playable map. The home countries would be off-limits for wars and doesn't shows up on a map. But the home countries (off the map) is what determine how much you can send to Africa in terms of reinforcements. It would be simpler and the Europeans probably felt that while it's wrong to invade a neighbor, but it's perfectly fine to "civilize the savages" in an all out war. It's historically fitting the period. People really did think that way back then. What do you think, NetherFreek?
As for unique colonies, this probably needs to be checked for gameplay balancing after the overall theme and gameplay rules are established first. It's cool idea, but I honestly don't know what kind of an effect it would end up having.
Can somebody advice my idea? (I know its far away)
