I‘m currently choosing skills for my artillery eyepatch general, and am wondering whether anti-armour's extra damage also applies to aliens. Since I already have triple gold star completion on everything other than the ones involving aliens, anti-armour would be useless to me if it doesn‘t work against aliens. Also, is Artillery Leader worth it?

Anti-armor does not work on aliens, and it's output is so laughably small that it wouldn't be worthwhile even if it did And Artillery leader is certainly not worth it

Hmm okay then I‘ll need two more skills alongside Artillery Barrage, Plain Warfare and Explosives. Any suggestions?

Supply maybe? Supply‘s always a nice one to have, but some people say it‘s not worth it.

If I station my artillery general in a city though, (commanding rocket artillery) wouldn't that mean he‘ll be an easy target for the aliens to strike at, since rockets can‘t retaliate? I thought the usual strategy is to have rocket artillery generals positioned outside cities, given that the aliens often like to go straight to attacking cities rather than any units outside them.

True, I guess maybe Jungle is good, and I think one alien unit has strat bombing as a power so shelter might work

Regarding terrains - different types of terrains don't actually provide any defensive bonus against aliens do they?

I thought the usual strategy is to have rocket artillery generals positioned outside cities, given that the aliens often like to go straight to attacking cities rather than any units outside them. The strategy you are mentioning is for conquest. It's a completely different story for campaign, because there you have limited resource and time to build any more units than for the 6 generals. Here street fighting shines like the sun. The aformentioned strategy becomes irrelevant because often you need to crack and occupy a heavily fortified city, and after that still fight aliens around it. If you position your artillery general with street fighting, you'll get total +40 output bonus which will be massive. You also generally need one defensive front in campaign — for money, nukes, save alies, or to simply prevent them from growing — and here's your best guy for the job. Also note that this skill can be extremely useful in lvl 7-9 challenge missions, especially Hold the Ground, unless you beat them all already.

Street is also king in 1939/43, where there are no nukes so you can defend cities (Belgium 1939 just became feasible)

Good point about Street Warfare, but how do you get +40 bonus damage in cities?

Good point about Street Warfare, but how do you get +40 bonus damage in cities? For whatever reason, plain is also triggered in cities
