For 1939 it's kind of good. I'd rather reccomend it for 1943 and 1950. But here's a quick guide: Send 1/2 of your troops to conquer Ankara (Turkish city) since it has a air port. The other 1/2 should be enough to take Lybia. As soon as you have Tripoli send some paratroopers to take Casablanca and any other axis city in Africa. When you got Ankara send troops to stop any axis country from advancing towards Stalingrad. If Athens has already fallen conquer it with paratroopers. With the air port and troops in Greece attack Belgrad. Try to steal the romanian cities too. During this send your troops from Africa to Italy so they can conquer it with sir attack from Belgrad anf Athens. Recruit some troops in Turkey and paratroopers and send them towards Bangkok. I normally used fortresses when I had a problem with Bangkok. After you have Bangkok it will be very easy to defeat the Japanese just spam paratroopers and air attacks. In Europe try to win through "stealing" cities. Your whole strategy in Europe is that you have more resources. With the troops in Italy you can either flank the troops in Germany or send them to Spain (if the USA didn't already conquer it).

I tried this too and my strategy was have all troops in mainland Africa go for Libya and build troops in Jerusalem to take the neutral Middle East. I had taken Baghdad and Medina when Italy struck back and took tripoli and Alexandria. Germany had taken Athens so I would've been pounded with paratroopers and Italian artillery. I stopped there.

Me too but, I have taken Athens, Belgrade, Sofia and Alexandria still mine. Then Badoglio come to Egypt-Libya border, German troops spam at Belgrade and Ankara

1943 is fairly easy, but for 1939 Egypt should not be green. Not for players just starting anyway. I think when you post guides you should say something about starting position.
My HQ is L25, inf on L6, art and armor at 4, rest was L3. One token general, and only Vatutin to start with... also only basic, first wonders for extra $ and steel. Same HQ won as 1943 Egypt and kicked allied but in 48 moves as 1939 Spain
Restarted this one, like 12 times...fast Libya and Balkans are easy enough to get, nearly impossible to hold. By move 8 I had both Libyan airfields, at move 12 Casablanca. Few units advanced for Greece straight away, so I think I had Athens at move 8 as well, Sofia by 12' most others join them after clearing Africa, so I took Belgrade and Bucharest, had Budapest for one or two moves, enough to kill Hungary. As said impossible to hold on to. Naser and Vatutin barely alive, 6 field artillery barely holdind german paratroopers in check, im earning like 540 per move, using 520 to build 3 new tanks each round...as soon as I build them they get bombed, leaving me with like 10-12 tanks with average health of 30. No place to recover them apart from Athens, we liberated Istanbul as well, but it's too slow. Never had time or troops to get Ankara and middle East. Who was not busy defending Balkans, had to run from Alexandria to Tripoli, to Algiers (France lose it more often than not), to Gibraltar and back, to kill Badoglio &Co. One or two Spanish attempts as well. Even if I had time/troops for middle East it would only expose my rear, as Japan was already in Delhi and Kolkata by move 35.
So I was sitting there like that for 20 or more moves, unable to advance, forced to watch Europe crumble. Playing 1943, Soviets would sweep by my right, from Stalingrad, via Budapest to Munich and Vienna, opening a number of easy targets. 1939, they vanish in 32-40 moves. British even sooner.
After playing first 30-40 moves over and over again, and eventually getting it right, I believe Balkan approach requires 3 things:
- AA level 4 or higher. One of those things you veterans take for granted, worth mentioning imho. - good and healthy air general to sit in Belgrade. shelter, supply & repair skills would be great. - more income than all of Balkans and Africa combined are generating. Without boosters that is.
At least, I couldn't survive without getting that AA level. Grabbing Ankara, Baghdad,Teheran help to finance air battle. It's doable without, but barely. Also, bombing a fat german general in city size 4 or 5 is useless if you dont have generals to boost the attack.
And another little thing; noticed more (Balkan) cities you get, faster Soviets fall. HAVE to leave at least Budapest or Bucharest to them. Athens, no prob. Take that. For rest of Balkans, forget it. If you plan to kill Italy first, get Belgrade. Bucharest is closer to Berlin. Leave Budapest + one for Soviets. AI always plays same..up untill I got Sofia, it was ok. If you grab all Balkan, USSR dies. So after taking Athens go for Ankara immediately. Or Lisabon, Havana, Rio.. anywhere but forward. Have to be there, have to assist, but dont take all of it. One forward base with Athens and Istanbul to support it is enough. Sit and wait till Soviets move. In my successful tries it was move 36-40. Starts slowly, almost shy. Join it, dont rush in alone. One time even a trickle of Brits from SE Asia walked by Bucharest just in time to add to Soviet-Egyptian offensive on Prague, Munich, that alpine parts.
Again, unless you have top tech and generals, take it slowly.. in the begining it will seam wide open, but don't bite of more than you can chew. And wait for Soviets to recover. when it does start, dont be greedy, share the joy.
