Who could have been a golden general in your opinion. I think for CCCP Mikhail Tukhachevsky would have been a good choice even though he died in 1937. For Germany: either Guderian, Rommel, or Manstein. For the USA: Nimitz, MacArthur, or Patton.

Rommel failed in Africa mainly because Hitler, Hitler didn't accept Rommel plead to give him more Panzer division which, if given, British colony in Africa will fall. In France, it is more complicated though, the delay of Panzer division to move is a great mistake, but I doubt that it will make a great difference if Hitler allowed the panzers to move. At best it only delayed the liberation of France. But it is still enough for the bulk of German Forces to surrender to the Western Allies. So it's mainly not Rommel fault.

If Hitler would have commanded the tanks to capture the allied troops (350k) many of them british; Churchill might have gotten overthrown and someone else who would accept a peace treaty would have been the next.

This turned from Cool Generals to why Hitler and Rommel failed in Africa lol. I think that Golden Generals should be the leaders of the super powers. Eisenhower was President at the time ( I think ) so he is good. Russia should have Mikhail Gorbachev as their golden general. Hitler himself should be the German gold general instead of Manstein. And they could be exclusive to conquests or for you to buy them (All of them. $20 for one general? EasyTech please)
