I personally dislike princesses and they seem to be getting more praise than I feel they deserve. While I understand that they can be powerful generals I wouldn't regroup my most powerful generals into them when golitsyn and dobeln get the same job done, if less efficiently. I also think that its to much work for just a free general, I would be much more intent on getting them if they came with a free slot but I don't find then worth the effort when generals exist with more or less the same stars/skills
One last thing,seeing a veteran telling someone who just installed the game to immediately go for the late game "trophy" gens no matter how much they may go against their play style kills my enjoyment for the game.

same thing here Conrad von Hotzendorf, I actually hate em I mean Isabela and Victoria are my favourite gens cause I like Artillery and Infantry they are my main part of my armies especially UK cause the light artillery is awesome and OP but anyway they are free but they need trainers sophia has good skills she is obviously a fort smasher but she needs trainers the same with isabela but 1 for her is enough and even lan needs a cavalry trainer to be op |

Though it may be because I usually get only one or two medal non trainer gens (Dumouriez and Golytsin) and use them to get Princesses... But I'd rather get a free gen by hard challenges then grind or pay for stuff I would throw away. |

Among GoG, EW 4 and WC 3, i think EW 4 is the most challanging and time consuming game because of the princess. Hard challanging make you really have to build your own skills of playing game. It prevents the guys (like me ^^!) who eager to pay or grind a lot then get the ULTIMATE LINE UP but W/O Skills or not skilled enough to OWN THE GAME.
You may be don't like too hard challanging game and don't want to pay. It's ok with orther free gens.
You don't like hard challanging game and eager to pay. It's ok with emblems gens but you never reach the Ultimate team. So build your skill and OWN THE GAME to deserve them. (I don't think the one who can get Vic and Lan even with IAP Gens is the player w/o skills)
And if you is the one who eager to face challenges to reach ultimate reward. Ok, Your HAREM TEAM is waiting for you. Come on , babe! ^^

Edit:That's why i sometimes hate Lan. |

Sakurako is easy for me granny's terror, I have got her really fast actually she is not anymore in my army cause I already finished it 2 times and now I am playing again with a mod but anyway she is like desaix universal but bad stars and only 1 skill per unit but she has movement you can go 2 hexes with the machine guns I think and many hexes with grenadiers ( the only 2 times I used her on inf ) |

Nor did Napoleonic generals enjoy the services of machine guns (even hand-cranked ones), armoured cars or ironclad warships. So if you REALLY want to be historically accurate, do not use any of those units. And that's before we get to the really minimal difference between light and heavy artillery in the game vs. real life, and a whole lot of other factors. |
