I know, we all do it (except maybe saltin , idk...), but let's get all of this back to a simple principle: Derailing isn't cool in a game thread (be it EW4 or WC3 whatever), but it's totally normal for a thread in the Officers' Lounge to be derailed. It's how we roll. So roll on with the derailing and have fun in the falls and bumps, Rolling! But as for the gaming subforums, they're areas of more serious discussions, Leave them be. If anyone want to call out on a derail happening, use this picture! \/ s13.postimg.cc/ew91s3tiv/derail.jpgYou guys, leave a picture of a derail in here as alternative picks for people to choose from, the more the merrier! Like: "Dude, this derail hurts, man..." "Ow..."

The [Officers lounge] has more leeway and is not as strict as the game boards when it comes to thread derailments but that doesnt mean it's a free for all.Generally other than the specifically designated [random threads] the rest of the threads should stay more or less on topic.
It is very annoying for members to read a thread tittle that spark their interest and motivation to participate in a discussion only to discover after opening the thread that the ongoing discussion has nothing to do with the topic. It's misleading and frustrating.
It also makes the [search] function useless since if everything is derailed and off topic the info found will not reflect the topic.
The best way to handle this if you are going off topic is to start a new thread with the new idea that spawned from the old thread. You can even quote from the old to the new . Creating new threads is way cooler than just participating in already made ones anyways, especially if a thread you created becomes popular. There is a certain charm in "owning" a thread. So dont derail, make new threads instead!
Also the rule you will find in most forums on the internet goes something to the effect of "He who creates rules". That is to say if a thread creator (the OP or original poster) complains that his thread is being derailed by others then the admin will almost always take his side. Owning stuff has its privileges ☺
