From what I know, the Qing Empire didn't really care about Korea before the self-strengthening movement. Korea was a vassal and tributary of Qing, apparently from 1637-1881. It continued as a vassal into the 1890s, ending for obvious reasons. The Qing entered the Sino-Japanese war over Korea, I imagine it would declare war on you. In fact, the Chinese helped Yi-Sun-Shin because Japan was invading their Korean vassal. Of course, that was a entirely different dynasty.

Gatling guns were just invented in the CSA. It's invented one and a bit decades early because IRL it was invented to lessen the deaths of mankind in war after Gatling noticed the horrors of the American Civil War. Although Gatling was living in the Union in 1862, he was in NC in 1848. Also, this year is the year of European Revolution, so you can meddle if you want. On the Other hand, Gatling is looking for prospective buyers... Mexico will buy from Gatling. Richard Gatling agrees. How many? (Note: until the Gatling company gets merged with Tredegar or something, they will function more like a semi-autonomous vassal NPC than a integral part of the CSA)

I believe around 20 were used in the civil war, but the US was hesitant to use them, so I imagine the amount you can produce for eager buyers is considerably higher. 25% will be fine I guess. My repeaters will do the rest.

A Planet's worth. The Gatling company has stated that unless if someone steals their blueprints, they are not going to reveal them. And yes, they have a patent.

Time to enact Operation Alligator Nest! Sure I'll take just 1 for now, I'll send a couple troops up to make sure you don't sabotage the weapon. They should be permitted to watch construction closely...

BRAZIL 1848Dom Pedro II of the House of Braganza rules over 8 million Brazilians and 3.5 million Portuguese. His slavery driven empire is strong and aloof. He faces many challenges. The border is fluid with Gran Colombia, which seeks dominance of the Continent, and cannot accept a Portuguese rival. The rising military might of Peru-Bolivia is concerning. Not to mention that both sides dispute the Amazon, and the Bolivians are already exporting their twisted ideology to Brazilian youth. Foremost is the rising Platine Union, which disputes multiple regions with Brazil, and has support in the rebel-enthused south. Never will Brazil give up her military gains to this small power. Not to mention Ferdinandian loyalists in Portugal. Bah. Brazil has a relatively small army of 530,000 (compared to Gran Colombia, which is similar in strength) His Imperial Majesty Dom Pedro II, Constitutional Emperor and Perpetual Defender of Brazil, orders the army to rise up, and defend the nation. 370,000 additional men are to be called up by 1849. BRAZILIAN ORDER OF BATTLE 1848 Peruvian front 150,000 men total in Acre, Rondonia, Mato Grosso, and Amazonas Gran Colombian front 300,000 men total in Roraima, Amapa, Para, and Maranhao Uruguayan front 100,000 men total in Rio Grande Do Sul, Santa Catarina, Parana, Mato Grosso Do sul, and Sao Paulo.

Brazil 1848 turn 2/3 First dice is for Portuguese support. 1-3 no support, 4-5 light support, 6 heavy support. Second dice is for number of rebels supporting Uruguay. tHb27IbyOut of, say, 150-200,000 Portuguese troops, 30,000 arrive to fight in Brazil. More is unfeasible. These troops are currently behind the front line. 18,000 Rebels in Rio Grande Do Sul rally to the banner of Laurent de Gouvion . ·
