From what I know, the Qing Empire didn't really care about Korea before the self-strengthening movement. Korea was a vassal and tributary of Qing, apparently from 1637-1881. It continued as a vassal into the 1890s, ending for obvious reasons. The Qing entered the Sino-Japanese war over Korea, I imagine it would declare war on you. In fact, the Chinese helped Yi-Sun-Shin because Japan was invading their Korean vassal. Of course, that was a entirely different dynasty. Yes, Korea was a Qing vassal but anti-Qing parties dominated politics at the time but the Chinese didn't give a damn. The Qing entered the Sino-Japanese war because of Li Hong Zang. Also, I hear that bribes work like magic on Qing politicians..........

ah that's great! Now I can easily liberate my land! Will post mine later. If you wage a war of aggression, I will reassemble the Grand Coalition as soon as I finish with Portugal And in that scenario, I would join...

For safety reasons, let's just not worry about Chinese politics as we don't have a human deciding things for them.

Am I allowed to have a European country annex my territory and then play as that country?

I want my land and I'll take it no matter what. That Switzerland Act of yours @coolguy14? What about that?

Am I allowed to have a European country annex my territory and then play as that country? I'm not the GM but I would strongly oppose that. It's supposed to be set mainly around Latin America not European empires and it would give you an unfair advantage. Besides, it's hard realistic.

Some blame the pope, others note the Byzantine emperor asked for help. Why do I say this? Because I am stupid, and because the Korean King asked for help in putting down a rebellion. The Qinq sent troops, which supposedly broke a convention about no troops from China or Japan entering Korea. Li Hongzhang misjudged the Japanese, and this started the war, you are correct I see. Anyway, perhaps you should gain an asian island colony before setting off for Korea. Ryukyu Kingdom could be, but as a Japanese vassal that would sour long-term relations. BTW, in 1800s China had a default army size of 200,000, and raised 630,000 men. These 630 were defeated by 240 modernized Japanese.

What about that? There was a clause that stated that any unanimous decision by politicians can bypass the Act in order to keep peace.

I just thought it was moving more global with the Philippines, Korea, Africa, and the Ottoman Empire.

An address from the Sultan, delivered in Parliament on April 7th, 1848
Ladies, Gentlemen, Leaders of the World, and my Ottoman brethren, Allah bless you all.
Through the ages, there have been aggressors who attacked innocents unprovoked, to satisfy their bloodlust. Genghis Khan's Mongols and the Crusaders are among them. Now, we face a new aggressor: the United States. In a lust for land and vengeance, the US has threatened no less than four sovereign nations: The Peru-Bolivian Confederation, Chile, Mexico, and the Confederate States of America. It is my opinion that this aggression may permanently damage the balance of power in the Americas, and the world at large. Therefore, I call on you, to boycott American Products. Do not feed this aggressor with your money, ere it expand further and swallow us all! I call on you, to protect the balance of power! I call on you, to protect Mexico! I call on you, to protect Chile! I call on you, to protect the CSA! I call on you, to protect the PBC! I call on you, to impose sanctions on the United States!
Thank you, and may you all find yourselves in Allah's good graces.
