The problem is a lot of people who get cars may perhaps be 16. Assuming some may even get cars on their 16th birthday, not many jobs hire people before 16. Thus making a steady income hard. That's actually partially unrealistic (depending on what kind of a neighborhood or parents you have). Most parents, if they give a car, they usually still have that kid under their names on an insurance policy. If it's the kid being on his own for this matter, he tends to be older when he get his car on his own. I brought my first car when I was almost 22 years old and I never got anything from my parents like a car so it was my very first one. I was working as a house painter at that time. I tell you, insurance is way expensive until you've got past the 25-age mark. It'll be on my dads insurance soon, don't worry. We got it from this guy who needed money for his child-to-be, and we got it cheap, too, only 1200. Dads just got to register it and we're good. Also, you'd be surprised at how many places in Asheville hire at 15 and 16.

I just got a job interview at a hamburger restaurant. If I get hired, I'll be working for not the nicest person. I honestly don't know what's more important in this situation: Income or Me

Well i live in Ohio, and from what i have seen and know a lot of people/teens pay for their own insurance and their own car when they turn 16,17, or 18 etc when they are in highschool (at least in the area i live in)

I grew up in Ohio as well.
Most kids were either too poor to get a car while in HS or had flithy rich parents spoiling them. There's some exceptions, but not many. The point is, it makes more sense to keep yourself on your parents' insurance policy than get one on your own.

I see your viewpoint, and yeah some teens have very wealthy parents while a lot do work hard and have jobs. Many teens even go ahead and get jobs on farms out here.
By the way, You a Buckeye fan?

Just gonna take a guess and say Akron. Anyway, you Deso? You don't NEED to say a specific city, but I will guess still

I've always sort of felt invisible in them... *ignoring intensifies* Anyway, in a thread packed with posts up to 100 pages likely the only "noticing" people get is likes and a reply or two. The Random Area is a speeding train with no stops.
