Today operation market garden started.
Even though this mission failed, it freed the southern part of the netherlands in the second world war. Lets remember that all those brits plus a lot of canadian, americans, polish and dutch rebels who laid down their lives to save the southern part of the netherlands. Also dont forget the germans who were just doing their duty.
Short: montgommery tried to free the netherlands but since its monty he didnt succeed. Only a part of the netherlands were freed and the rest needed to wait for the canadians to free us. But still this day is important for us since it freed parts of the netherlands.
