I don't understand what this guy is saying, but what I do know is that the game look's good. This "give princesses some stuff to join" thing looks interesting, at least it's better than tiresome farming and grinding.

Ew fog of war is back? My least favorite mechanic. Sure it makes the game more realistic but if I wanted to fight a hyper realistic war I'd join the army.

Im not saying that fog of war is the worst thing ever but im just saying after eu4 and wc3 this just dosent fit, glory of generals 1 and ace were both total garbadge that had this fog, adding fog of war adds nothing to realism, becose you know what else isnt realistick? for example, the fact that you can play battles again after loosing, mmm im sure real life generals could do that to! Fog of war is never gonna work for easytech's engine and this is going to be bad game if they keep it,completly ruins strategy just becose its 'realistick' this game isnt realistick and it will never be as long as general can defeat enemy while outnumbered 1:50 Agree with you that the game can't reach 100% as real. The fog of war is good to be kept IMO. Before you start attacking multi enemies, you must carefully estimate their force based on how strong of enemy unit, how wealthy of enemies, and support from your allies. It's not as simple as you know every units, formation... of enemy and you can distribute your units exactly enough to deal with enemies who you know their detailed conditions. You have to change your strategy turn by turn when you know more suprising information of enemies by clearing fog, sometime your attacking direction will be fail when you make a little careless decision. I don't know AIs meet the effect of fog or not, but at least Players do. Difficulties and Challenges make player spend more to this game, their time, concentration and sometimes the MONEY (like me ). That's the purpose of every Game Developers when making a game.

But the guy was basically saying that it ruins the effects when you can simply find out the locations then move back (or from knowledge of playing a level previously). This could be prevented by... If the AI was capable of shuffling their positions inside the FoW, then it would be an added layer of strategy. And no taking back moves - this would be extremely unpopular. I do understand why the guy said that. So I need to play the devil's advocate here, yuanzhong.

You are right about move back to take quick view of enemies position, but it's only affect in short distance, sometimes you have to move a long way to reach enemies and have to distribute your force at early of game (especially your Generals). I finish my GoG w/o any guide or WT, and replay once mission several times is common problem although i have all best generals and upgrades by farming medals. About knowledge of playing a level previously, it's only right about 70%, because after a number of turns, the situation is different time by time in same mission. You can easily see it through many ET game that w/o fog of war as EW4 and WC3. And people usually find guide when they fail several tries on missions. The game should be hard enough to keep players for long time, but not too hard to make players leave the game, i think that's what Game Developers want. I don't critise the guy, just show my opinion about FoW and explain why i like it. We have the conversation, not criticize argument. The WP doesn't have EW5 now. So i don't know exactly how the game work. It's the pain in .... when you have to kill all Unit / fort to win Conquest / Mission (like EW4 conquest) with FoW because you can't reveal 100% map. That's the worst problem of FoW IMO. Hope ET don't set thing like that ^^!

If it's EW5, I would just like to know what your own opinions are on the game. Conquest, campaign, etc. And how it compares to other EasyTech games

If it's EW5, I would just like to know what your own opinions are on the game. Conquest, campaign, etc. And how it compares to other EasyTech games I meant EW5 I am quite impressed with the game. So far its better than I expected. The graphics may not be your style but the gameplay is quite good. Conquest has a strategic layer where you recruit troops, move them around you provinces, do diplomacy, upgrade buildings. And a tactical layer where you battle. Its really good imo I say its my 2nd favorite easytech game. 1st is WC3 You should give it a try for sure.
