Thought this was interesting. Curious as to what you guys think would have happened if America would have upheld the Treaty of Alliance with France? The Treaty of Alliances was Formed after the American Revolution, which promised mutual military support in case fighting should break out between French and British forces. George Washington and Federalists backed by Alexander Hamilton opposed the idea of protecting the French West Indies, while Thomas Jefferson supported the idea of aiding France. The idea of not supporting was chosen. If America would have chosen to support the French, this could have led to war, with France and U.S on one side vs GB, Prussia, Austria, Netherlands, and Sardinia on the other. So what do you think, in terms of long term and short term?

Not only that, but we were overseas with hardly any navy. The best we could do is have Britain use their resources on suppressing the colonies. If we tried to sail overseas they would just blow us out of the water.

I think that America would seek to invade Canada instead of sailing across the Atlantic, this would force GB into fighting in two continents and also having to blockade the American Navy leading to a significant drop in forces in Europe Alternatively the US may decide to sail the majority of its army to Europe, this would leave it open to attack by the coalition navies and allowing British forces in Canada to attack the outnumbered forces still in the US Either way America acts in this event, the outcome would be negative Note: There may be some bias in this outlook so feel free to correct me

In my opinion, it wouldn't have been much different. The War of 1812 can be used as a model of what would've happened and it was a stalemate. So basically you would've had a longer stalemate in the Americas. The only possible difference would be if after defeating France, Britain had a higher grudge against America, threw the weight of its empire on the new US and took the Louisiana Purchas away, preventing the US from being the superpower it is today.
