NEW THEME!
Name one (One so that others can also get involved) country/place that has the suffix 'Stan'. For reference, 'Stan' means 'Land of' in Persian, and it makes sense why much of C. Asia, the Caucasus, the Mid East and the Indian Subcontinent as these places saw a lot of Persian influence.
*No politics. I specifically state it for the Stans as most have some tension/political disputes there*
Hindustan Refers to all of modern day India (I.e, the main region with Hindus in the world with the exception of areas such as Fiji and Guyana) Also refers to the region from the Indus Delta to the Ganges Delta Derives from the Mughals, who called their Indian lands "Hindustan" Not used as the official name for India as, unlike most other regions with Persian influence, the Indians are neither majority muslim nor do they speak Persian/a language with a lot of Persian influence

My country! Pakistan!
Pak actually means "clean" in Persian and "istan" you already know.
So it actually means "land of the clean/spiritually clean".

Ok idk if you can put regions but Normandy, big mountains, good defensive area, famous historical battleground. (if regions arent allowed then) New Zealand , Small Country, made of two islands, Their troops were part of AMZAC in ww1 ( duuh ), isolated country, beatiful Landscape

Ivan Kolev, this can be a separate game, but it seems the OP of this thread ( Quintus Fabius) wants to stick to the original game in this thread

A town in the north of France famous for the Allied retreat of 1940.
NB: Am I allowed to make references to the games of EasyTech like EW4 or GoG?
