I mean seriously, I have two catapult tavern generals. Both have over 1k hp and deal 500 damage to fortifications. 3 hex range. I'm taking capitals in 7 rounds and one shorting ballista towers. Its amazing Oh and they are in the same set of units. That's nothing... wait until you grab a pair of cannon or artillery generals from the tavern! Also add 2 infantry generals on top of that. Now that's pure epic... Sometimes I just keep my artilleriesin the back, not even using them during a battle. Using the blind spot in front of enemy towers, I was able to rush an infantry general to sit in a spot that no towers could reach me and peck at the tower. That's what I did. Utter and absolute crushing in last 10 turns in a row, either by rain of death from 2 cats and 2 artys or ninja sneak attack!! If you got a 4000 silver artillary gen, forts are no problem; it only takes one shot! Of course you need units to clear away the enemies so that it can get at the castle.

I know. But colonies are mostly independent in that game (French Guyana)

Good job, you beat me to it. I haven't finished my first conquest, but I made so many mistakes in the first 40 turns and that led to a real rough road later on. Eh... live and learn. I will finish mine some time next week probably.

EW5 logic Invasion in the Atlantic (daily mission) Takes place on a completely waterless map
"Defense" (City mission) Has to destroy defensive arrow towers
*Gives you a flintlock pistol in the classical era*
*Give a ballista a sword, they become more powerful*
*Give cavalry boots, they become faster
*Give bowman a Shield, they get more hitpoints*
*Give infantry a crown, they suddenly become more accurate and adds to their health*
And plate armor is only mildly better then leather armor.

LoL - League of Legends has the same problem. There's a meme somewhere that marksmen carries a whole bunch of swords (for AD bonuses - attack damage) and instead of using arrows, they fire their bow with swords nocked onto the bowstring instead. Even saw one cartoon drawing, a marksman dying while trying to hold up too many swords in his arms, and didn't even used his bow once.

Today the last citizen of Moresnet died. This small country in current day belgium existed from 1816 (when napoleon was gone both nl and prussia claimed it, so it became under dutch-prussian and later german-belgian rule) till 1920 (after ww1 they gave the area to belgium). A country that made luxembourg look big...

AoE logic: sheep can scout for humans then come back to be happily slaughtered. Oh, and in Wesnoth a village is 1 house and the size of a human.

Quintus Fabius, it's more like the size of a man AND a horse somehow shoved into a tiny tent or an one-room cabin. Lol
