I didn't beat this until I was into the next era of campaign missions.
I used:
Robin Hood on Longbowen Alexander Cleopatra Hannibal Huo Quibing Leonidas Pachuciti (or whatever his name is)
It's a pretty difficult mission. You have to immediately rush to the north to kill Attila. Move Robin Hood carefully and keep him out of danger. His bonus against cavalry is crucial against Attila. You should be up there in turn 2. The enemies in the center will also attack on turn 2 so make sure Robin Hood is move as far from them as possible while still going north.
I was able to get 2 or 3 solid hits on Attila before he broke through the gate. Usually the case is that he captures a barrack tile and spams warriors to kill Huo. So you have to at least get him to low health before he gets in.
After Attila is dead, just cross over the northern flat and get to the city. You can go up and over the tower and wall. In fact, don't even worry about the tower. I had Cleopatra and Robin attacking the city and that was enough. I finished in 8 or 9 turns. 3 stars

How would Robin Hood be able to go that fast and take some shots on Attila?

General placement for this mission sounds important if we want to get Robin Hood fast to Attila.

How would Robin Hood be able to go that fast and take some shots on Attila? Just give him some +3 boots. They are a very common reward for things. Cheap as well, if you don't have one. Also he can attack from 3 hexes away so you don't have to go completely over to Attila.
