Name is Military Camp. Checked on the list, and Tito is right. The item is present in both Imperial Eagle and Coalition. Imperial Eagle in Leipzing Campaign and Coalition in Liberation of the Rhine. Pretty good investment, I say.

Charge into a large group of enemies, and take a few of them with me. Tends to clear a path for the weaker units Well, unless it's an arty. Then they just fall back and heal via nobility.

What exactly does it do, and what is the appropriate way to use it?

What exactly does it do, and what is the appropriate way to use it? It makes the unit regenerate health at the end of the turn. You give it to a low-health General

You give it to a low-health General Even decently high nobility combined with the +6 tent is amazing to have. Generals don't die, and they can get back into battle much faster than they could with one or the other.

A rly OP Thing is 10+ Nobility, 2 Military Camps ( +12 Supply ) and in a maxed out City, that is really OP ( but costly ) +22 Health and the supply that the City gives you

I like defense item more personally. It's a matter of when and where. Defense is far more useful when in combat, whereas Tents are better when moving between fronts or healing behind the lines. Also, defense is much more effective for Cavalry and frontliners, who are the ones being injured to begin with

In tough battles defense is way better, but no doubt tent is useful when generals are in peace. Cavalry is the one who needs defense most.

Running for princesses: your general is moving between cities and killing their defenders in order to capture the town and produce a larger army. Short periods of violence interspersed with phases of movement to the next juicy target. Tent is better.
Grinding, OR fighting for survival against much bigger or stronger nations: your general is constantly engaged, with few if any chances to break away and heal. Defence is better. (This probably also applies to campaign mode, but I haven't played enough of that to be certain of the best strategy.)
