Just wanted to know if anyone else has it. I know EU4 is hyper-popular and most people who has one of the EU games has the 4th, not the 3rd. I had a taste of playing EU4 by borrowing it from a friend for a month (during the summer break ofc, best time to immerse yourself into a game you never played before). So when I brought EU3 - Complete + HttT + DW for 8 dollars (no future DLCs to worry about, yay!), the similarity and difference hit me pretty hard. Eventually in a few hours, I became accustomed to the different way of doing business. I miss the better tooltips and EU3 feels so arcane in trying to figure out what or how something is affected, but through an extensive reading of the wiki on eu3wiki.com I got it. Much smoother sailing now. Gotta love it.

I'm getting the new laptop real soon... I plan to redownload from Steam EU3... I failed miserably as Portugal and Ottomans (but at least my France game is doing okay). Since I have to start all over without my old save files, I think I will give England and Castille a try! I haven't decided if I want to use them as colonizers or European conquerors (They might be able to do both, almost... Not that strong as France, so I will have to pound down the AI France the best as I can).

Never played it before, but seems interesting. What kind of laptop/computer is needed to run a game like this? I don't really have the money needed to buy an expensive computer, and I am sure the one I currently have can't run it, so I was just wondering.

Well... assuming if your computer is capable of running the steam launcher, I would assume it can run EU3. The requirements: Windows XP/2000/Vista (should not be a problem) Processor 1.9 GHz (that's like a moderate high-end smartphone minimum, like Galaxy S5 or something) Memory 512MB (pfft, oh please... go with at least 1 GB, you should be okay if you're maintaining the computer in decent shape, like no viruses, etc) HD storage 1GB (eh... that's a little off... I think 4 GB is closer the mark, but I got the bundle so...) DriectX 9.0 or better (doesn't matter, because usually if a game needs it, it will unload DriectX for you automatically anyway) So... unless you're running a ten year old computer on its last legs... I think you could run it. (Just make sure you don't have other stuff running at the same time, ofc)

Forgot to add... I brought the EU3 bundle for $7.99 when it was on sale. I think it would be on sale again at least maybe 4 to 8 times a year.
Full price for two bundle options: 29.99 or 39.99. The 40 dollar one has the unnecessary fluff of pretty artwork and music.
Make sure you get the main DLCs all in one go. Europa Universalis 3 has four expansions
In Nomine Napoleon's Ambition (Complete includes only the first 2 expansions) Heir to the Throne Divine Wind (Chronicles includes all 4)
There is no further DLC releases for EU3, but there's like 12 DLCs for EU4 already and there's a new one every 6 months to 9 months.
Paradox Interactive Studios wants to disable your base game and makes you buy the DLCs. Just be warned. (That's why I brought EU3 instead of EU4)

Alright, cool. I will have to look into the specs, but my current computer should be able to run it. I was looking into buying a new one anyways, hopefully in the next couple of weeks.
