Note: These are suggestions to ensure relative calm in PMs. They are not official or formal rules. In general, there are 3 rules governing whether something can be said in a PM: 1. It isn't against the Law 2. It isn't against the Proboards Terms of Service (particular focus on sections 18 and 19) and Community Guidelines3. Both members agreed to it in advance or it is allowed under the Forum's rules Note that if members agree to discuss a topic against forum rules but allowed by both ProBoards and the Law (e.g. Politics), they may do so. If a member has sent you content that meets the requirements of sections 1 and 2 but not 3, you should: 1. Request that they stop (unless you want to discuss it) 2. Failing that, request that a GMod or Admin make them stop, while providing the nature (but not substance) of the content If the content does not meet sections 1 and/or 2, you should immediately inform a GMod or Admin of the nature (never the substance) of the offending PM. In particular with regards to lewd materials and personal information, DO NOT send the actual material to the GMod or Admin Also, PMs are confidential. What you actually posted will not be shared with anyone else unless you allow as much. Note, however, that the nature of any forbidden content you send may be divulged to the Senior Staff. Example: I send you my fringe views on (insert Politcal subject). You tell Saltin that Picard sent you an unsolicited Political PM. Saltin acts, or doesn't act. Thank you for your time, Jean-Luc Picard
