Focus all your forces to left side and don't even try helping Charlemagne. Getting some boots ( for faster generals) might be helpful too. Always try using the right unit type against the enemy. If You still can't do it be pacient and try evolving în Empire Age or get Barbarossa.

You have to speed around the left and capture the northwestern barracks to keep the mission going. The Longbowmen are indeed godlike and need to be avoided, that's all. There are many missions in Empire age with God soldiers. So just skirt around them by sticking to the coast. If you have decent generals you could even split up and send a couple to the northern stable while the others go west. I don't remember how many longbowmen there are, but I saw 3 at the start. There might be more in the fog but they don't move, I know that for a fact.

Keep your forces away from the powerful longbowmen as they will maul you quickly. they can hit 1-3 tiles so stay 4 away and I do not think they move. This is a theme for Joan of Arc campaign, a lot of powerful longbowmen that need to be avoided at all costs for victory
