Full question (too long for the thread title): "So I just bought an (infantry, cavalry, artillery, naval, business, movement) trainer for my princess; how soon should I regroup them?"
It seems that variables to consider should include:
1) How powerful is the trainer themselves? Do they have many, many stars and skills that make them useful in combat, or are they barely good to stumble up and down the parade ground?
2) How many slots do I have? (And who else currently fills them?)
3) If they're potentially useful over and above the training, how prepared am I to grind the hell out of the game for medals and academy refreshing to get them back again?
4) Is there another general I already have, or could easily buy, who has the same combat-skill set? (If so, regroup and get the other one - but this gets back to affordability again.)
Have I missed anything? What are some of the other factors one could consider when deciding when to take the plunge and regroup?
Now if only we could transfer skills and train for "training stars"...
At the moment I have Carteaux, Kutaisov, Dumouriez and Sophia. The intended regrouping would be en masse - Carteaux into Kutaisov to give him rank and nobility; Kutaisov into Sophia to give her the third artillery star plus the rank and nobility boost - but I feel that wouldn't leave me with enough artillery expertise. I feel a more sensible option might be Kutaisov into Sophia; train her up, but leave Carteaux as a second artillerist and open up my fourth slot (I am not going pay-to-play) for another trainer (e.g. I have the option of Falsen, who is naval; any admiral is better than no admiral, and he could help me out with the Trafalgar grind and give Sophia an extra naval star if I got bored with him).
I seriously don't mind heavy grinding; I am one of those strange people, and I have found a nice setup.
