Hello. Decided to make a thread instead of accidentally step on someones toes. Sorry if I caused offence by avoiding offence. so I just completed Roman Empire, and received Cleopatra. As she is my only Artillery gen, I was wondering if I should use her/ upgrade to ballista. Since many of you are far ahead of me, I imagine someone could say whether that is a waste of medals. I have all the gens it gives you plus Wallace and Pachacuti. BTW, Julius Caesar Needs to get his head in the game   |

I even uprgraded her to catapult ( 3 stars) and Khalid to balista too but I won't invest anymore medals în them. I would say it would be recommanded to get Li Shimin, since he and Napoleon will be most likely be the only gold artillery generals and also we will also Bismark near endgame. However, I uprgraded Cleo ( but not skills) because of the Rumor and Explosive Expert, which are pretty good skills and also because I had no other alternative ( I spent almost all of my medals on maxing out Alexander, not a terribly good choice for now, but maybe good în the future). Also after lv 40 you get +6 missions every 12h , everyone giving you 15 medals, so you can easily get 200 medals a Day, which is a lot more than the uprgrading cost of idk... 200 ?  ( For 4 stars it is 350 btw). Anyway, a bit off topic but there is why not to Upgrade Alexander ( at least that much) and Cleo's stats at lv 30. TL;DR Upgrade her start, not her skills! Thanks! I will upgrade her to Ballista, as she is my only Artillery Gen. then maybe When it shows others I will buy one.
I'm not sure what you mean. Think you mean Upgrade Alexander, right? He is really powerful, so I imagine I will keep using him, at least for awhile.
im not entirely sure how one gets upvotes, but I'd like to get some myself, so I accepted your answer. After all, seems a resonable answer. Allows me to keep playing.

I mean I spent about 5000 medals on him when I could buy Caesar/Li/Paladin Sword. He is endgame generals since he is gold , but I'd say don't uprgrade his skills past lv 5

Here's my opinion on the generals you mention.
Cleopatra: She is an OK general. Since the other artillery generals cost medal and you will need one for your campaign, so my suggestion is to ask yourself whether you want to wait for ones like Bismark or Heihachiro or buy Li Shimin now. But I am now in Gunpowder era and still don't see any better artillery than Li.
LiShimin: IMO, he is the best artillery general as of now. Though many players think that logistic skill is kinda waste on an artillery general, I feel otherwise. I usually find artillery general becomes a target for AI melee and it is hard to keep him completely out of combat range when you want to maximize his utility. With some level in Logistic skill, you can just blow up some towers or walls to regain HP back. And since artillery generals have high HP, Li can be quite tanky. If you are not gonna wait for Industrial era (and progress through the campaigns with Cleopatra), then I suggest buying him.
Caesar: The best infantry general up to now. Though I do not have him, I can kinda imagine how good he is. He has a slightly higher stat than Alexander and his skills are certainly useful. Healing Master is a good skill for an obvious reason. You can heal multiple units for a nice amount of HP. Braveness is also a good skill but I think its potential is limited with an infantry because, unlike cavalry generals, Caesar can attack once per round. You will find him being attacked more often than attack.
Alexander: My favorite general (because he is gold and he is free).
Regarding medals, at my stage, I can get about 200 medals from missions each day if I can do them twice (once every a few days, I can do the missions only one round because the second round pops up after I go to bed). This seems abundant, but since you need around 10k medals for upgrading your squads from 4 stars to 5 stars, I suggest you to be cautious when spending medals.
