If you have money than yes it is.
They give you more value than just buying medals. A gold general would cost 3000+ medals in the tavern.

Washington should be your first priority since he cannot be replaced. He has special unit at 5 star and logistics. Only gold archer general in game.
Genghis has braveness but can be replaced by Attila since he has braveness as well.
Napoleon is good artillery but can be replaced by Li shi min.

Thanks for the info. This means medals should be saved up for the upgrade to 6 stars. Do you know if all generals get a different ability? |

Hmm, my interpretation of best75's analysis, is that if Atilla and Li shimin can replace Genghis and Napoleon, then actually no need to buy unless you like them as Individuals, not stats. However for Genghis I'd take Marshal over Attila attack master (maybe?) and at least he's way cheaper than Napoleon. So really, only Washington is a great idea.
BTW, damn the medals, more content for the game is good in my book. Since I got this game Ive played every day, and since I'm reluctant to just do missions and take a break, also since your level still goes up, I'm going to have a medal drought. Probably just started, since I bought and upgraded Atilla.

Buy them if you want to support game developers.Only good tactic is needed to complete level.
Atilla and nobunaga are enough to complete all levels to gunpowder age, I can't tell you if they will work in 6th era, but I think it will be passable challenge
