After playing the game for a while i've become confused as what I should do to get the most out of my medals/time.
I've just recently upgraded to empire age and is wondering where I should go next.
After playing WC3 and learning that medals are not to be wasted, i've decided to be mostly conservative with my medal spending, purchasing no additional generals and upgrading no general skills except for bravery on Hannibal and Logistics on the Chinese cavalry general, both skills I find very good. I've also purchased no additional equipment from the store.
I'm currently wondering if there is anything that's worth buying/upgrading? A second lucky crown looks pretty nice, but I'm not sure.
I've also grown impatient with the waiting time on missions and castles, so I've set the time on my device forward by a few hours and back, not sure if it has any hidden impact on the game.
Any help would be appreciated! ty

its reccomended to get li shimin or upgrade cleopatra, u will need an artillery general to finish the levels, and possibly 2 for gunpowder age.

Your main goal is to get last era. After that u can play what u wanna with out problems. :-) So for that u will need: Gold and literature. Both can farm in fast conquest. 1st era with Greece.
later in game u will got to seduce generals. Joan is blue and poor. U can seduce later if u want, but others are much better and have logistic ( best skill for conquest ) Lincoln and Saladin. I just buy suleiman because think will be endgame genberal and horse after kill can continue and in 1st era gens oneshoot anything. my squad for farming is suleiman, saladin, alex and linc. for 1 run need me around 80 min. and almost will get gun era. :-)

This is a list that popped into my head. It is NOT ranked by priority.
1) Read a thread about generals in order to decide which generals you want to buy. 2) Upgrade skills only on the generals you want to use for endgame (unless you find the game too difficult and need good blue generals). 3) Upgrade star to the generals you want to use for endgame. 4) Buy set items. I do not think buying purple items is necessary since you will get some along the way. 5) Lucky Crown is an exception. I bought it and I am happy with it. It is extremely useful for conquest because you can spend a lot of rounds in each battle to regen.
PS. At high level, the number of medals you get is quite generous, compared to WC3. Wasting some medals does not mean restarting the game.
