We all make fun of Sakurako for being an unfocused hybrid, but she isn't totally useless (at least in free-to-play).
In our lineup, we want 1 infantry, 2 artillery, 2 cavalry, and possibly 1 navy. Lan and Isabela fill 1 in each of cavalry and artillery, and Golitsyn is the second cavalry, but who is the second artillery? Some would say to forgo it, and use Victoria for Infantry and Navy, but others want more artillery. Thus, they want an Art-Inf hybrid. Now, about 2/3 of you are thinking Yermolov, 1/4 are thinking Jourdan, and 1/12 see where I'm going. Let's pick Yermolov, superior to Jourdan because Accurate>Explosive. Now we look at Sakurako, ignoring the purple and blue. We see Bugle and Accurate. If Accurate>Explosive, isn't Bugle>Formation? Why, yes, it is. That is why Sakurako is the best art-inf hybrid. But that's not all! She also comes with strike and 2 cav stars (trainable), so you have a 3rd cav general in the package, too. Now I'd call that a bargain. So that, dear reader, is Sakurako's use in life.

As I have started using Sakurako, I've come to agree with the OP. She inflicts 35+ damage on every unit, and easily fills in whatever slot I need her to. She has even more movement stars than Golitsyn, making her really effective on Guards Cav and ACs. In that respect, she has an edge over every other cav general in the game except Lan iirc. Equipment her with a quality saddle, and you can figure out why Kanue used her to get Lan and Victoria in HRE 98.

I don't like Fatima either. Not enough combat skill to hold a place in the squad once it was between her and Sakurako. Maybe I'm making a mistake- but I'm at Restoration of Empire and I haven't needed her econ bonus yet.

Cough Lassalle cough Davout cough regrouped Berthier cough Dombrowski cough Radetzky cough cough cough. All of those are IAPs except Berthier. I was anyway referring to untrained gens (Kanue used an untrained Sakurako).

Hhmmmm, the only reason Sakurako has a chance against other cavalry generals is because of her survivability (four training stars) and speed (four movement stars). For a start, Raevsky has four move stars for speed. For survivability, two training stars are better than nothing and he has defence art which is nice. Eventhough strike might be better than surprise, Raevsky's extra cav star gives him the edge in output as well.

But her four training stars are on par with defence art and Raevsky's two training stars. As for the price..... well Sakurako's free, so I guess that's her strong point against Raevsky.

My point precisely. I'm not at all saying she's better.
