Giovanni Andrea Doria, a Genoese admiral in the war between Ottoman Turkey and the holy league (Italians, Spanish, and Knightly orders) He commanded the right wing at the decisive battle of Lepanto. At the cost of 7500 men and 17 ships, they injured or killed 20,000 Turks, sunk 50 ships, captured 157, and freed 12,000 slaves. This was the first major defeat for the ottomans, with Doria previously losing while commanding an entire fleet at Djerba. letter is A. Augerau, one of Napoleon's original 18 Marshals. Fought with distinction in Italy and commanded VII Corps during the Grande Armee's heyday. He had a spottier record after that, including an embarassing tenure in Catalonia, but was nonetheless lionized for his courage in battle.

Well, you all saw it, my speech about "Augerau"
Dominque Vandamme, a French general. If I remember correctly he sucks in EW4 Napoleon, yet he was apparently a capable general, when not annoying his fellow soldiers. For this reason he was never promoted to Marshal.
Next letter is E.
Funny how there is so much letter diversity compared to Geography- AAA.

Sakurako, EW4 princess Just kidding, William Tecumseh Sherman. Union general, criticized for his scorched earth policy, is famous for his March To The Sea, in the closing years of the American civil war. He also was commander of the American army for 20 years after the war. In the alternate history novels by Harry Turtledove, transplanting ww2 events to the American continent if the CSA survived, If I remember right there is a version of the march to the sea in which civilians are machine gunned.

junius, Rokossovsky, a great Soviet commander. Also, a quick update: if you do use the general's first name, make sure that the first name follows the pattern. example: Bill --> LEO King = Bill --> James LITE =

Yi Sun Sin, a former nickname of mine. Ahh, I remember. Did you get him in EW5? Apparently he isn't that horrible (though Im not getting him lol) Takuma Nishimura, a General in the Imperial japanese army in WW2. Executed by Australia after the war. (BTW, he went from retired to commanding in Indonesia, so I believe he never surrendered in an actual campaign region) PzGermany24, IMO while it is kinda strict, I think we should each say what letter we are ending with. It aids replies, while also allowing us to write the name naturally, instead of all caps, which I also thought of doing. Eaker-EAKER. BTW, letter is A.
