After three months I only have Sophia, Fatimah and Kate After more months than that, I only have Sophia and Fatimah (who I regrouped into Sophia because she had outlived her usefulness).

I never even used Fatimah when I saw her skills immediately I did what you did. I have Napoleonic code, so no need econ generals.

I kept her until I bought the code, and she was sort of helpful as an extra general to use in the Trafalgar grind. But not by much.

Addit - and then I bought extra slots, and now I regret not keeping her. She's useful if you want to play small nations; she lets them build up a bit faster with their limited resources, and enemy buildings that you capture if you put her on cavalry are cheap to upgrade and give good cash.

I use Fatimah as a fort general whenever I use super small countries such as Serbia and Two Sicilies. She will be useless mid and endgame, but earlier survival is necessary if I aim to win with these small countries.

France 1798 is the best (okay, maybe one of the) conquests in the game, other than HRE 1798 and, arguably, Netherlands 1775 (or Moldova 1809 if you're Jean-Luc Picard. Africa isn't an issue, since the only chance of a nation getting involved with Africa is your ally, Spain. What's more, you have strong generals. However, you have to play your cards right. For example, never send Napoleon to fight Sardinia and Naples; he'll get bogged down in the latter. Also, sending Desaix to fight Switzerland is useless. If this were World Conqueror 3, then you could very well attack neutral countries, since you have 300 rounds to complete a conquest, but you want to earn princesses, and the easiest one (Sophia) takes about 65 turns at maximum.
So this is my game plan for France 1798 (I won within 50 turns the first time, but I didn't get a princess. Probably because I got Sophia from before.)
Enemy #1: Holy Roman Empire Generals Used: Dumouriez, Desaix, Moreau, eventually Napoleon Probably your biggest enemy in the earlier stages of the conquest, the Holy Roman Empire has tons of generals, including the revered Archduke Charles at Vienna.
The way to go with this is to take Weilburg in the very beginning. By then, Desaix will have arrived, and use him and Dumouriez (who is now on depleted health thanks to August I) to knock out August I's artillery unit.
Gather your forces to attack Munich, where Davidovich is. It should fall within a couple of turns. Also, if you're quick in the battle near Milan against Klenau, Napoleon will partake in this.
The next city to take is Vienna. Same thing with Munich, just kill Archduke Charles with Napoleon.
And here's where it gets tricky. The Holy Roman Empire is big, and splitting up your forces won't do it. So you have to create forces to take Oldenburg and other cities like it that you didn't take before.
Once you take Lviv, and possibly Warsaw, the Holy Roman Empire is defeated.
Enemy #2: Great Britain Generals Used: Jourdan, Massena, artillery general (I use either Sophia or Isabella)
This is a hard front initially. Rowland and Charles defend London well, so it's an uphill battle. However, your fastest runner is your artillery general, and s/he can work miracles. Once you take London (taking Southampton should be step #1), it's a simple matter of mopping the enemies up. Once you take all of Britain and are just left with Ireland, take your artillery general and take him/her to Scandinavia or wherever those pesky Coalition troops remain.
Enemy #3: Portugal Generals Used: None
The forces you have near Bourdeaux will come in handy here.
Do not take Zaragoza. You should take the stable near Madrid, so you can spam cavalry units.
If you take the farm near Zaragoza, the Spanish will have a couple of violent mood swings, so you'll have to do the heavy lifting then. So be a gentleman and take only the stable.
The rest is self explanatory. Take Lisbon and Porto.
Enemy #4: Sardinia Generals Used: Marmont
Just ship Marmont off to Sardinia. Kill Amadeo III and destroy the fortress. That should be it.
Enemy #5: Naples Generals Used: Marmont
Italy should be holding its own against those pesky Neapolitans, but it won't be winning for a while. So you should swoop into Sicily first, and then move on to the mainland. Once Naples is defeated, move Marmont and his forces to either clear out any Russian forces scattered in Ottoman territory or send him to Russia. Or Spain, if you're having trouble.
Enemy #6: Sweden Generals Used: Massena, Jourdan, Artillery General
Simply land in Scandinavia and take the cities. Dobeln might be dead at this point. If he's not, then a whiff of grapeshot will kill him.
Enemy #7: Prussia Generals Used: Napoleon, Desaix, Dumouriez, Moreau
Repel Prussian attacks, and then take Berlin and mop up the rest of the Prussians.
Enemy #8: Russia Generals Used: Whatever generals you have to spare (BUT NO TAVERN BECAUSE IT AIN'T WORTH IT)
I sent Desaix up north, and Napoleon in the center. Moreau goes south, into the Crimea.
Make sure to use lots of artillery units to defeat Barclay. It's recommended to spam infantry units (militia is best) to surround Moscow to decrease Barclay's morale and increase the amount of damage you can deal to him. Once you defeat Barclay, the war should be over.
