They actually meant Verdun. My strategy for 3 stars.
Put income, barracks, stable princess. Produce infantry and armored cars.
You can't advance straight east past the wall. The walls have too much HP. You need to advance south and capture the buildings there. Than advance past open ground to attack the base from the south. I kept my units mostly on the right to avoid cannon on west of base. I put some units I produced from the barracks and stables on the outside to distract cannons from attacking my generals.
Killing Lincoln will give morale boost. Once factory is captured I put factory princess and starting producing super mortars for rest of lvl. A armored car general will appear from the west. Advance past the west wall than advance south. Kill Petain and destroy fort to end lvl.
